If that happened, that would definitely be the point I stopped watching. Writing their whole story arc out of it (presuming they have) was a good move.

All in all, I really can't say i'm getting into this series so far. As someone says, it's like a whole new show, but without the gripping nature of series one. I too am actually struggling to see the point of the baby storyline in all honesty, it doesn't really seem to have any point, and I can't see where they're going with it.

Good to see it back on track this week with Carrie now in Islamabad and doing what she does best - disobeying the rules!

I'm a little disappointed that we've been seeing something of Quinn's private life. I prefer him to be mysterious and brooding and living in an empty apartment (as he was in series 2). Still, I suppose if he's going to feature more in this series and become Carrie's love interest, they have to give him a personality.

Does Carrie know that Quinn was initially employed to kill Brody (after Brody had ceased to be useful to the CIA)? I can't remember if she ever found out Quinn's role in that.

I don't recall that she did but Saul knows .
Btw how did folks in here interpret that last look Saul had on his face as Carrie turned away and left him after making sure he was going back home?

I'm confused about Fara - why isn't she wearing her headscarf any more, and in Pakistan of all places? Carrie put a headscarf on when she was out in public, though it was somewhat negated by the fact that she was showing cleavage.
Also, has Fara been trained for undercover work? I thought she was some kind of financial analyst?
And who is paying Max? Carrie said that the CIA "knew" he was out there, but I don't think she said they had authorised it.

I should know the answer to this as we were shown the video so many times in the episode, but I don't - is Carrie visible in the video of Sandy and the car being attacked? Would that lad be able to identify her from the video? We know he's suspicious of Fara because he said "even if you are who you say you are", so he will be suspicious of Carrie too.

My favourite thing about this episode was the two utterly inappropriate adjectives used to describe Carrie by two people who didn't know her very well: "sensible" and "lucky". I can't think of one sensible thing that we have ever seen her do!

The show is a poor relation to the original series. The same poor cliches are being written into each episode and even the actors are struggling with portrayal. It's something to pass an hour on a Sunday evening, but long since must watch tv.

Totally disagree. This has been the best season since S1, and one of the better dramas on tv at the moment. At least Metacritic gave it a score of 74 which is above average.

Well I'm sure I'm not alone in being confused as to why Carrie is having sex with the medical student. Something which is confusing me which may not have occurred to others is concerning Quinn & Max & Faria & the other two who are in Carrie's secret little group: who is paying them their wages & how did they get permission from the Pakistani government to live & work in Pakistan?

Isn't she trying to make Aayan an asset? Instead of letting him leave Pakistan she needs him to stay and act as an informant on Haissam Haqqani's activities. Since he's a vulnerable lad she probably thinks sex is a good way to reel him in.

As for the mechanics of how spies get work permits etc, I guess that applies to all spies everywhere. Possibly they have tourist visas, or visas that allow them to work at the embassy (and then they covertly work elsewhere). Quinn was already working there so presumably he re-entered Pakistan on legit papers.

Well I hope that Carrie is taking precautions as she's already got one kid she's abandoned.

I think the baby thing was brought in to bring more poignancy when Brody finally met his end.
I don't think it has any relevance in the current series but they had to either have the baby die or someone else look after it.
I must admit I am a big Homeland fan but I am struggling to follow a lot of the storyline and beginning to lose the will to try!!

They didn't need permission from the Pakistani government as to all intents and purposes they are part of the US embassy. The CIA will be paying for Carrie's secretive group. Lockhart will have little choice but to co-operate as Carrie blackmailed him over the Sandy furore, which was how she landed the CIA Islamabad Chief of Staff job

What's bugging me about last night's episode is the ISI man who met with Saul in the restaurant - going by his English accent, are we supposed to think that he has spent a lot of time in the UK, or is it just that the actor couldn't do a Pakistani accent and the programme makers didn't mind as long as he sounded foreign to American viewers? It's just that if he is supposed to have grown up or studied in the UK, there could be all kinds of stuff in his past waiting to be found out!

A lot of the wealthier people in both India and Pakistan send their children to the UK for their education.

She does wear it on the street doesn't she, but not the office like she used to. I guess she's changed her mind?


Yeah, she was a finance bod. After the CIA bomb I guess she's had to increase her skill set. But the reason she's there is that Carrie trusts her. When Fara went walkabout, Max seemed concerned that she was stepping beyond her training.

I really enjoyed the awkward Carrie seduction scene. As someone said she is prostituting herself for the job, and she is also screwing Aayan, literally and metaphorically!

But what do you think Aayan is really up to with the drugs and his terrorist uncle? Maybe he isn't as wide eyed and innocent as he seems to be given that the false intelligence about the wedding, Sandy's murder and Haqqani faked death were all set up. Is he actually screwing Carrie?

The show is absolutely dreadful at the moment. I'm going to give it one more episode and if it doesn't improve, I'm giving up.

I used to love this show, but I switched off half way through the latest episode.

I cannot see why I should watch it any more since I do not believe in any of the characters, and do not care about them. There is no mystery, no tension, no credible plot.

Why is it still running?

She did wear a headscarf on the street in this episode, but in the previous one she was out and about without it. In this episode she seemed to be wearing it as a disguise in the hope that Aayan wouldn't spot her, but she didn't even think of holding it over her face like at least two other women in the vicinity were doing with theirs!

I think we are just meant to assume it, as the previous poster said the ruling classes in India and Pakistan often send their kids to British public schools/Oxbridge, which means they end up being played by British Asian actors like Art Malik and Alexander Siddig.

Why is Carrie promising the student a place at a British university rather than an American one - what's it got to do with us? Given that he's young & obviously a virgin & she is a much older nympho - the scene of them making out made me feel uncomfortable.

It almost became a chore to watch it. Not interested in the characters or the inane, rambling storyline.

It's well past its sell by date, I bailed out on Sunday.

It felt that like in season two and three with pointless Brody family, the writers has to give Dana something to do and the son had about 3 lines of dialogue in 3 years.

This time around you had Quinn's back story which didn't serve much purpose but they have moved to Islamabad now so hopefully less messed around.

At least they seems to have let Carrie stay on her meds so she is actually watchable.
