Also did they know if she would either have delusions or if so see Brody?

The replacement capsules were the same colour as her real medication for obvious reasons. So that gives no clue as to what was inside.

I was disappointed that Saul didn't manage to make one of the lenses of his glasses into a stabbing tool to kill Haqqani when they were in the back of the car, or find a knife on the table to stab him with when they were eating, but I guess he cares more about preserving his own life than about trying to kill Haqqani.

I noticed that Haqqani's son was right next to him when Saul said, "You executed your own nephew", and I'm sure that is going to be significant. With Aayan dead, they need a new teen character in the show, don't they?

With Saul's background, he will have formulated some sort of gameplan and every exchange of words, opinions, etc, with his captors will be significant. He'll be capable of playing the cards he's dealt as well as he can. Just hope the scriptwriters are up to that.

I too had a wtf moment with Brody... but then I remembered reading somewhere that he (Damien Lewis) had been slated for a brief return to Homeland via flashbacks and I guessed that, coupled with Carrie believing she was shooting in the street, Brody was another hallucination. I wasn't expecting it to be Zaf (can't remember his name in Homeland ) in the house, though.

OH & I were in disagreement - he reckoned heroin or something like that, I reckoned flour or something like that.

Poor Saul having to listen to the terrorist & his wife having sex - gross.

TBH, that's the least of his troubles !

I agree . Very unlikely imo that by injesting a placebo it would result in the state Carrie swiftly slipped into , aggressive ranting , paranoia , and finally hallucinations.
Will anyone think to give her a blood test ? Not likely when they know she's bi polar .

I thought the Brody hallucination was utterly heartbreaking. Very well played by both actors.

I know it's all integral to the plot but after the bombing of the CIA headquarters, 9/11 etc. security around US govenrment buildings does appear to be a little slack.

Secret exits and entrances to basically a fortified embassy, just being able to break into the station chiefs personal quarters and swap some pills around. They seem to have eyes on the whole planet but not the 100 metres that directly surrounds them.

Just pushing it a bit too far this series for me.

Obviously her meds were exchanged for some hallucinogenic drug, a few of the symptoms of which might be confused with extreme bi-polar disorder. I think that may have been the idea behind it as the ISI would like to get shot of Carrie as she's proving to be a major problem for them.

I think that Carrie should have gone to see a doctor as soon as she started to feel unwell, but that's Carrie for you.

But Carrie did not realise that she was unwell. A bit like Dr Crusher in Star Trek she reasoned that she was alright so it must be the universe that was awry.

Typically how the mind of a person with a mental disorder thinks , yes!

Just as I'd got used to Carrie acting as normal as she can be they go and do this to her !
Actually from the last 2-3 episodes enjoying this series the most since the first, I think because its a stand alone story line really.
Bit worrying if this bears any resemblance to real life the way the Pakistani intelligence agency seems to be one step ahead of the CIA

If half the rumours about them are true then they are not only one step ahead, but are deliberately trying to trip them up. Don't forget that Osama Bin Laden's house was less than a mile away from a Pakistani Military Academy.

So glad that Homeland mentioned Daniel Pearl today. Rarely do they refer to real people.

Read up please about Daniel Pearl. His story begins when Indian Airlines flight 814 was hijacked in Dec 1999. As in this series, a prisoner exchange took place after a harrowing hijack. One of the low life's exchanged was a Asad Rauf a Brit Pakistani (public school educated). See what he did before his release and after it.

Horrible events that happened in real life. homeland referred to it by mentioning Daniel Pearl.

Interesting that they mentioned James Foley who was killed in August. Either they must film the episodes quite close to transmission or they edited in the reference to James Foley at a later time.

Saul could have increased his chances of evading re-capture if he'd tried to disguise himself (with the help of the grocer).

I'm sure the reference to James Foley would have been edited in.

That was an excellent episode. Made me wonder why we had to endure nearly a whole episode on Quinn's little freak out.
Anyway, I'm passing the hat round to buy Carrie a new handbag

I'm confused. Did Carrie purposely lead Saul out into the Taliban?
