one has to believe that the connection between Brody and Abu Nazir is real, strong and intense. They know each other and AB is able to still trust Brody despise Brody having let him down in a major way...
AN trusted that Brody would send the number and let Carrie live, Brody trusted AN that he was going to use that number right away and actually able to kill the Veep
It is also good for us viewr to see a glimpse of the old(real) Brody in the moment he spells it out...touch of evil
At the same time Brody wants to feel clean again, and free....

No I think this was delibarate and a kind of a homage to the closing scene in french connection, when popeye doyle runs into the darkness chasing frog one. to all intents and purposes abil nazir is the frog one of this show.

As for whether or not nazir wanted the vice-president dead, are people serious? no i'm sure he just wanted to scare him a bit. of course he wanted him dead!

And i'm pretty sure brody felt the same way, as he waited until he was fairly certain walden was brown bread before he went for any help.

I really want the writer to go on a long holiday and come back refreshed...
They have enough time to come up with the goods, no need to rush, dear me this season has felt like a rushed job badly done and only half hearted
They took some crazy decisions while they had so many storyline to follow... it is ok to surprise the viewers but that you set the bar too high the only way is down...
They can do better I am sure.... going back to something similar to season one, wrapping up all the lose ends, bringing in a different agenda which they have alredy introduce with Dar Adal, Estes and in some way with Quinn...
I am sure Quinn will become quite central... he looks at Carrie in a fanny way too..........

I think some of you people need to accept this show is smarter than you think. Maybe smarter than you *get*. Writers smarter than the internet: is that even possible ....

I don't watch many major US series, but with the ones I do see, a recurring irritation with me is the lack of continuity resulting from the fact that they use teams of writers. Some of them seem not to be aware of character traits and plot details which others have introduced.

i think the VP has/had a dodgy hidden agenda ( not sure why as it is all very confusing)

The VP was behind the drone bombing of the compound where Brody and Nazir's son were, causing the latters death. This was covered up by the VP and Estes, who hopes that the VP will further his career. Endorsing Brody was a big embarrassment for Estes when he discovered that Brody had been turned during his captivity so not wanting to get a black mark from the VP decided to cover up the fact he's in league with Nazir. Hence Quinn being there to bump Brody off when the time comes. What I can't work out is what they plan to do with Saul as he knows all this- or is there more to discover with the new characters?

I'm sure they could tell that it was the cause, but we don't know if they'd be able to tell that it was actually tampered with. It may just look like it malfunctioned, and Nazir's hacker could have deleted any logs of the changes he made.

If he is the mole it's one hell of a stunt to shoot him and have him that close to death but know that actually he'll pull through

Still finding the Brody/Carrie relationship unbearable and no longer interesting to the storyline. The crash scene was shocking, but seemingly taken from Cold Feet a number of years ago.

Didn't Carrie hear the information being demanded for her release and why not tell the CIA for them to act. Then returning to the warehouse unarmed is to be played out next week, but ridiculous and another example of the nonsense and dramatic license they use to suit their almost draft storyline. On the pacemaker of the VP in emergency external shocking can still be done, rendering the device useless and needing immediate replacement.

Then the continued second guessing and outright disobedience being done would not be tolerated and chain of command exists to ensure compliance and reliability in any situation. If the obvious questioning of authority went on, particularly in such a serious high profile operation, could lead to chaos and then any failure, be scrutinised at inquiry, destroying the service.

It looks that way. She is all about protecting Brody. By keeping quiet she joins in with all the other characters of Homeland who are all driven by very personal interests one way or another. She has lost her innocence too...

ps: I would love to see Quinn questioning her on how she got out/what happened when she was with public enemy n1...

of course she's not going to tell, because surely they'd have to arrest him then for direct involvement in the assasination of a vice-president (although I speculated the same when they discovered his video-tape, so pretty much anything is possible in this show)
