Best episode yet of this new series, which seems to have had a new lease of life now Brody is gone for good, hallucinations not withstanding, and it looks like that Pakistani security official is going to be the next notch on Carrie's bedpost!

One thing though, Saul made it 20 miles to the town after escaping, without detection, so wouldn't it have been better for him to just hide out in the middle of nowhere and been extracted by chopper?
Pleased to see someone else noticed that .... loved the final scene last week where she was crying into his arms.
Quinn will not be pleased tho if he has a rival for Carrie affections , not really a rival because silly man never makes it known to Carrie how he feels?

It was far fetched really to have Saul cover 20 miles in the condition he was in but hey ho I don't want to pick at small details like that.

Just glad his mobile phone batteries lasted so well.

Or did he ask his captives to charge it for him while he lay in the cell?

Doubt he has an Iphone.

It was the afghani mans phone. So when he called Carrie she did not say Hi Saul. Just hello. If it was sauls own phone she would have known it was him.

Pakistan in reality and in this story have always been the bad guys. When Hilary Clinton says in the starting montage...... ' you cant have snakes in your backyard and expect them to bite only your neighbours' ...(this by the way was a real line and not said by Clinton for this series).....she was accusing Pakistan of duplicity and betrayal.

Pakistan has been a hotbed of terrorism for the past 20 years. In fact the road to almost all of the terrorist atrocities in the Uk leads to Pakistan.
I thought they tollerated the Taliban, but this episode pretty much lays out that they are activly helping them agains the US.

Taliban was supported and created by the ISI. There is no doubt about this. Hence the hatred for Pakistan in Afghanistan. Those people suffered the most due to the ISI actions.

I thought the drone's location gave away Saul's position. So, are we to assume that the Pakisani authorites tipped off the Taliban as to where the drone was watching?
This seemed to be a big plot hole.

If ISI can track US drones' locations, then why on earth would they place a drone over Saul's location? The CIA certainly don't trust the ISI (rightly so as it turned out), so they really should have thought of the consequences.

In fact, they could have lured the taliban to the wrong location by putting a drone over some other town in the wrong direction as misdirection.

They didn't even need a drone as they had Saul's phone including GPS.

It's not a plothole. It's probably the reason the Taliban guessed where Saul was. More like an oversight by the CIA

That still needs a slight suspension of disbelief, though - it's a well-known secret that the CIA and ISI haven't trusted each other in real life for years.

Yes agree. It is well known to those who follow politics. But the general population is blissfully unaware as to the depth of mistrust and the valid reasons behind it.

I've seen it. It is a good ep with an unexpected....

I see in the States the series is taking a week's break for some odd reason. Are they doing the same over here?

It was Thanksgiving in the US - a time when people allegedly visit family and friends and socialise rather than watch TV

So a lot of TV networks drop their flagship series, rather than suffer reduced ratings

And yeah...if the latest episode hasn't been aired in the States yet, you won't be getting it over here

The latest episode airs tonight in the US. The UK has been a fortnight behind the US; I think now it'll just revert to a week.

I think this is the first time it's taken a break for Thanksgiving. Normally it finishes in the week before Christmas, but this year the US has the last episode on 21st December.

indeed. as much as the idea of an american soldier turning into a terriorist seemed plausible, I was never convinced by the depth of Brody's brainwashing/being turned. I know what it feels like to be brainwashed (it ain't good at all) and it just didn't come off well on-screen or convincing, so I never really bought into his character and hence the whole of season 1-3 as a result.
