[quote=Styker;80239328]Saul is more of a co star and always has been therefore his role and storylines are not getting tired but Carrie I think is well past it generally in both as a character and storylines. In Spooks the main characters/actors left that programme after a few years and I think Homeland should do the same in writing Carrie out[quote]
Bib Why not send Claire Danes an e mail if you feel so strongly about her being dropped ?

IMO Carrie really is past it as a character and I think if most of her fans thought about it, they'd agree. |

Yeah, like she is going to quit just because some people on Twitter say she should. A fanciful comment.

You never know. Programmes are commissioned on ratings and are cancelled very quickly in America if ratings drop. Even if they don't drop, the programme makers are always thinking of how they can improve their programme and part of that is realising when characters are past their sell by date and or have been over used and its time to either move on or give the character a rest.

Finally caught up, that was a great episode of Homeland. The last quarter of the hour was excellent and what an ending!!!
So Alison is the one who intercepted Saul's kill-list drop and put Carrie's name there? Is she the one who wants Carrie dead or is Alison working for someone higher up? If she's the big bad of this series this is going to be one hell of a season! When Carrie called the number Alison spoke in Russian, so i'm wondering is Alison really Russian or just pretending to be American? Then there was the plane explosion! Was Alison responsible for that too? Dar Adal? So many questions! For me this episode was better when it was Saul and Alison going about their mission, but seeing Carrie and Quinn back together was good too. Don't think Carrie playing dead is going to last too long. As for that kid handing over the USB stick to the Russians and going alone, what an idiot! Tonight's new episode is titled 'Better Call Saul'! ![]() Enough of the get rid of Carrie comments - maybe leave that till after this season has ended and you can argue amongst yourselves! |

Claire Danes is one of the executive producers of the show, she is not going anywhere.

And if the ratings drop(or have they already?) then the penny might drop that she needs to stay behind the camera and not in front of it.

Homeland is on Showtime a premium cable channel in the US. Ratings do not matter to cable so much as they do to network channels.
Could it be they pulled out because they realise the programme is past its peak? If so they need to look at how they can revitalise it and that imo would be writing Carrie out for a start and get some fresh new lead characters in. |

What a frustrating episode - I was shouting at the telly call an ambulance for Quinn, take him to a hospital! Carrie is not doing enough to disguise herself - just a wig & that's it, glasses would be good, also a change in clothing style - such as wearing a dress. As for who is working with who against who - I'm completely

Quinn took a photo of "dead" Carrie in the last episode and Carrie looked at the phone and noted there was only one number in the memory.
She called it and it went through to Alison at the airport. How did the Russian guy Alison met get the picture of the "dead" Carrie if the only number was the phone Alison had? The only number the picture could have been sent to was Alison's. |

We didn't see anything of the Swiss investigation of the explosion. Presumably they interviewed everyone who was at the scene? Did they not uncover the fact that the General's daughter had been given medical treatment in a "hospital" set up by the CIA as a sting? Didn't this bother them? Did they mind Allison holding the "hospital" medics for questioning?
And do the CIA still give their agents regular lie-detector tests like they did in season 1? Has Allison passed them? (And Saul, for that matter - I seem to remember him ducking the test in season 1 for some reason which was never properly explained?) Although Saul is being set up as regards the plane explosion, this whole thing does count as yet another of his screw-ups in my book, since it was him who arranged for the ambassador to be recalled to the US instead of Allison, perhaps because of his relationship with her. |

I might tweet Clare Danes suggesting that I think it would be a good idea if she allowed her character Carrie to be written out of Homeland and or just to make the occasional appearance if and when Quinn wants to contact her or might need her etc etc. |

Why did Carrie have to have a bloodied face like she'd been beaten up? Surely those kind of killings are done by a single bullet in to the back of the head.

okay , so , if I've got this right - Miranda Otto arranged for Carrie to be killed by Quinn , but why would she think that Quinn would do that ?, he's pals with Carrie .
why didn't she just get any other hitman to do it ? . |

How can Saul be blamed for causing a screw-up here? It was Allison who went behind his back and contacted Dar Adal insisting she stay on in Berlin. He clearly agreed. Neither does Saul nor Adal have any idea that she's a Russian agent yet

Isn't the character of Dar Adal jewish as well? If he is, then why are they just automatically assuming that Saul is going to be so pro Israel? Shouldn't they be thinking about Adal's loyalties on that front too?
On that Alison, its hard to tell what she is saying as she seems to keep on using some Russian words too. I get the feeling the Russians have something on her and thats why she has done the double dealing unless she is has links to Russia herself. |

Whoops someone else who doesn't seem to realise that manic episodes of Bi Polar are exhibited to this extent by some people who suffer the disorder.
![]() I've been annoyed by Ms. Danes representation of this illness since series 1. The very idea that within a week of coming off medication she is floridly psychotic/manic and within a day or so of taking meds again, she is recovered are ridiculous in the extreme. |

Alison didn't seem too bothered that the Egyptian's plane was going to blow up but seemed increasingly nervous, worried this week on some points particularly asking the Russian guy she met to stay with her a few more minutes.

My recording cut off a few seconds from the end, Quinn was clutching his stomach, did I miss anything in the last moments?
