I spotted that too. They must have filmed that quite recently for them to comment on it. Surely that line had to be about the Paris attacks last month. Has it been confirmed anywhere by official sources?
I love how Homeland this season is so close to current events and situations that are happening in the real world right now and in real life today. The Syrian terrorist storyline right now is very much close to the bone. This has been a really different season of Homeland compared to what happened in season 4 but creatively has been all the better for it. I also love we have a different enemy in the form of Alison who i love cos she's just so damn sly and clever (eg. the David Estes excuse she used as the other person she told about the Russian but is now conveniently dead!). Liked the scene when she was smoking outside and either sent/received a signal to/from the old lady walking the dog! ![]() Saul's rage at Alison. You go for it sir! I could totally feel his anger. Loved that scene! Gutted for Quinn. Not sure how he can come back from that. He might be alive but surely he'd be brain dead from the toxins or in a coma of some sort? |

The Paris remark could of course have been referring to the Charlie Hebdo and supermarket massacres of nearly a year ago, when presumably S.5 would have been filming.

If you go back a few pages it was electronically added in. Allison had her back turned so they got the actress to record a line about Paris in place of what she would have said.
I pointed out how it could have been done! |

I wonder whether Marwan's suicide reminded Saul of what happened with Aileen a few years ago?

You'd think that by now Saul would have learnt to trust Carrie's instincts. She's standing in an apartment with evidence pointing to an attack on the station and he brushes it aside totally convinced by Allison's story, without bothering to find out how she got the information in the first place.

I don't see why he couldn't have had them evacuate the subway as well as the airport, just in case Carrie was right! After all, it's not unheard of for terrorists to have multiple targets.

Aaaargh, I was yelling at the TV for somebody to damn well alert the authorities & get that bloody train station EVACUATED. Seeing as Alison is under suspicion surely they'd take whatever she said with a pinch of salt even if she did appear to have been shot by the professor, I had a little bit of sympathy for Alison before but not now - she's nearly as evil as the jihadis, I wonder where she is - she surely can't get far wounded.

Wow, that was a corker of an episode!
Man oh man, what can you say about Alison?! What a character. She is possibly one of the best things to have happened to Homeland in ages! And such a bitch. I can't believe she was going to allow the attack to happen! She is sailing close to the wind that woman. That's not even including her killing her bodyguard, the professor and shooting herself in the shoulder! As for Saul did he know exactly the information had come directly from Alison or was he just told the airport was the target? Either way he should have trusted Carrie and evacuated the train station too just to be safe. Felt sorry for him when you saw the look of despair on his face when Marwan killed himself. Poor Quinn, i still don't think he's going to make it. Even if he does will he still be able to function properly? Season finale next week. They need to nail Alison once and for all! |

Great episode! I agree with earlier comments that Saul would surely have had the Hauptbahnhof evacuated as a precautionary measure given that the terrorist's apartment was full of plans of it! In reality, if such an attack were suspected, I think all public transport systems and public buildings would be closed (rather like what happened in Brussels a few weeks ago).
Interesting link in the Guardian to a blog where they discuss the 'intelligence' aspects of the episode: http://blogs.wsj.com/speakeasy/2015/...ert-weighs-in/ (The blog is safe to read, but as with all review sites, avoid the user comments, just in case). |

Interesting that the professor claimed to be an atheist, his justification for being involved in the attack was stupid, and besides he should realise that given Germany's history it more than any other country has got to support Israel.

I'm surprised that things were going on as normal (people using both the airport & the train station), recently in Belgium in real life the whole country was in 'lockdown' & as far as I'm aware the terrorist threat was nowhere near as credible as the one in Homeland; personally if I'd seen that message from the jihadis on TV then I would absolutely stay indoors in my home!

Alison didn't wear gloves when shooting the professor & her bodyguard & she didn't wipe the guns - so her fingerprints would be all over the guns, furthermore she pressed the gun right up against her shoulder - so ballistics experts would easily be able to establish that the gunshot was self-inflicted.

How 'bout that response to backup for Carrie. They're on their way, she tells the little guy.

I know she said in the ladies' room that she couldn't do what she was instructed to do but she didn't look at all unhappy carrying it out ?. |

Really good episode lets hope next weeks doesn't disappoint. One thing I've liked about this series is the majority of the time (apart from the episode where she messed with her meds) Carrie has been behaving relatively normally

Eh ? Sad for some of us it'll be off soon enough..But you know there's always a choice, no one's forcing you to sit through something you wish would go away ?

Well she was probably hoping that not too much forensic analysis would take place, or that she would be long gone by the time the incriminating details became known. |

Another disappointing final episode, shame after it was built up well last week.
They should have killed Carrie off, if she doesn't want to go back to the US or work for Saul again what is the point in keeping her around and with Quinn gone the show could have been refreshed next year. A disappointing series in general, i'm not sure I will bother next time. |

Would it kill the writers to end a season with a spark of hope once in a while?
Much as I've enjoyed this season, the ending has left me feing flat (much like the end of season 3) |

I don't fancy Carrie accepting Otto's proposal and she' s turned Saul down so maybe that was the finale of Homeland as we know it ? Where can it go ?
