Re Roya: what's all this about occupied land (implying that she's Palestinian, well at least that's my take on it), but I thought she was from Yemen..... I swear someone in an earlier episode said that she was from Yemen.

Oh yes, ta. I take it then that given what's been said to Saul, that leaving her with the means to commit suicide (even if that was not his intention) is a disciplinary offence?

Yes it should have had a similar main plot to the first series, with some big assassination or bomb plot.

I don't get the one with the camera crew, it seemed to be stopped to easily.

I knew that Carrie was leading that poor FBI guy to a certain death.

Saul can't prove that he left his glasses accidentally and not with any intent to leave her a weapon to kill herself with. He wanted Saul out of the way for undermining him and also because Estes wants to bump off Brody and believes Saul would stop him...............................................................
I THINK!!!!

what?
I guess the Veep was right when he said to his son no one cares for the Veep...
I would call it a big assassination, no?

Yes but it wasn't the main plot of the season, was it?

It seemed to be tagged on, an after thought.

The writers just seemed to be making it up as they go along.

i thought tonights was supposed to be the finale.

they must have something lined up for next weeks show, otherwise it's just been one big borefest.

the big plan involving Roya and the Crew blowing the Homecoming event did not happen, that got stopped. Nazir still managed to kill the Veep... and who knows there could be still something coming. I am speculationg here and I actually do not think it is what will happen, but Brody could be the new Nazir for what we know...

EDIT. Personally I find it difficult to believe that Brody role in the big plan was only to convince the VP to have Roya TV to film the Homeland event...

Me too, but knowing it added to the tension!

My last post appears to have been deleted, I don't know if i broke any rules (I don't think I did by speculating) but if I did, apologies.

Next week will presumably be all about Quinn trying to kill Brody, which obviously won't happen. I got the impression that Quinn is feeling slightly guilty about having to bump Brody off, possibly because he has feelings for Carrie.

nah i think its more a case of him waking up to the fact that there might be more to estes than meets the eye

it must be said that Quinn has taken Carrie much more seriously (and her hunches) than her old time collegue and friends

I enjoyed tonight's episode, seemed a little more like the normal Homeland, rather than the 24 wannabe we saw last week.

With Nazir dead though I guess the question is what will Season Three be all about? I guess we will get some sort of hint next week in the season two finale.

Glad it's not just me Though Morena's nice too; and older

At my age, anyone young enough to be my daughter is probably "out of bounds"; at least morally if not legally

Only 33

I think that Morena Bacarrin is one of the two most beautiful women on TV (the other being Christina Hendricks of Mad Men).

She looked better, IMO, in Firefly and Stargate (the hair!), but she's still bloody lovely in Homeland.

I'm surprised he didn't have a red shirt on (old time Star Trek reference)

anyone else noticed how much this show is influenced by the 1970s thriller "the french connection"

the main character gets broken by the main baddie.

theres a sniper.

theres a scene where they are chasing a baddie onto the underground (earlier this series)

one of the main baddies is a tv reporter in homeland, a tv presenter in the french connection.

the theme music is very similar.

the scene where carrie i chasing abil nazir into the shadows is very similar to the final scene of french connection where doyle is chasing frog one.

maybe i've gone mad or the producer is a huge fan of freidkins masterpiece.

I seem to spend my whole time nowadays shouting at the tv, "Use dogs! Or thermal imaging!" when they are hunting for people!
