I don't fancy Carrie accepting Otto's proposal and she' s turned Saul down so maybe that was the finale of Homeland as we know it ? Where can it go ?

Another disappointing final episode, shame after it was built up well last week.
They should have killed Carrie off, if she doesn't want to go back to the US or work for Saul again what is the point in keeping her around and with Quinn gone the show could have been refreshed next year. A disappointing series in general, i'm not sure I will bother next time. |

What did it mean when Dar Adal said that Carrie was Peter Quinn's "beneficiary"? Surely he didn't leave his money to her when he has a son? But it couldn't just mean that he wrote her a letter?
Also, I thought Peter Quinn was his alias, so how come they never used his real name when he was in a coma or when he was woken up to answer questions? Maybe he would have responded to his real name? If he isn't dead, then my guess is that his brain damage will be like Foreman's was in "House" - very temporary. |

Why would the kill off the central character and one of the finest actors on TV in Claire Danes?

Poor ending. Just as last season was a poor ending.
Think the show needs to wrap up next year. |

I think one can take it as red that Quinn is gone. I think Homeland needed to move on in a much bigger way to survive with any credibility. I think it would have been a better idea if Carrie had been killed off instead. Her bi-polar, quivering lips, bulging eyes scenarios have now been done ad-nauseam. Carrie was never really a credible CIA agent anymore than Superwoman was real, whereas Astrid showed how a believable female spy should behave and operate.

I would prefer Carrie to stay on the show but only if she is at the center of the CIA, if she isn't employed by Langley why would the CIA involve her in their work. |

Because if she is not working for the CIA what is the point in her character, they will need to write her into a plot again next year and just happen to involve Saul and the rest of the CIA (I don't think that worked this year) only for her to come off her meds (again) and for her to 'save the day' again.

Homeland is always a bit of a slow burner for me, I struggle to stay with it at the start but the the last few episodes bring me back in. Liked the finale and I don't agree with killing of Carrie (as that has to be the answer to everything? sick of shows killing off characters) but without her, I doubt I'd continue watching, but they should start thinking about wrapping up this show.

I don't care what anyone says but i thought that was an excellent finale episode and i was happy with how it ended. I don't need a big action set-piece, just a lot of drama and the finale delivered that in spades for me personally. Miles, miles better than the S4 finale which was just absurd.
The only thing i found disappointing was how the bomb threat was over in 5mins as soon as the programme started. It should have lasted a little bit longer and they could at least have extended it to the 1st quarter of the episode, but it was fine. I wasn't expecting Alison to go out like that, i wanted to see more from her but she got what was coming. I felt sorry for Laura being forced to lie about Marwan on national TV like that. That was a horrible moment. He didn't deserve that. No one does. Carrie is obviously back for season 6 but as what? And what is Otto all about?! There's some gameplaying going on with him. It was only a few episodes back he was saying he made a big mistake hiring Carrie and was slagging her off to Jonas, but now he's saying he wants her as a partner in the business.....and more?! Crazy! Gutted for Quinn. Even though we didn't see him die the final scene was his farewell imo. Shit way for him to go out lying in a hospital bed. He deserved better and will be sadly missed. Homeland won't be the same without him and i doubt we'll see him return next year. I can't decide if this season was better than S4, i think S4 may just top it, but all in all a good season of Homeland for me largely thanks to Alison who played a blinder!! And a great actress as well. |

And how do you know she won't change her mind and be back next year? Have you seen the scripts already?

Not the Finale. Renewed for season 6.
Also strongly believe Quinn /Rupert Friend will be back. Damn I didn't think I'll be crying on any Homeland ep but I did on this one.

The last scene with Carrie, was that supposed to be her turning off Quinn's life support machine? If it was how? She took off the "reader" on his finger that reads and detects the heart beart and blood pressure.
Why did they shoot the Russians at the end for instead of hauling them in? As I'm writing its coming to me that maybe they would have had to let them go because of diplomatic immunity but if that is the case then why hasn't the other Russian guy they've got not got that immunity? As for the Russians threatning to send that hacker back to Turkey where he would get the death penalty, really? Human rights laws wouldn't allow it so that whistle blower woman should have called their bluff. |

![]() It wasn't the Russians threatening to deport Numan to Turkey. It was the BND. You think Turkey care about human rights?. Did you ever see the film Midnight Express which was an autobiographical story? http://www.amnestyusa.org/our-work/c.../europe/turkey |

No I haven't seen it, was going to hire it back in the day a few times over but as it seems to cover a very depressing issue it put me off. |
