The Grey....7/10.

The dog and I really enjoyed this. A bit predictable and I wasn't keen on the ending.

Total Recall (2012) 6/10

Zero humour and charm. Inferior to the original film in every way apart from SFX and action which admittedly is impressive (along with Kate Beckinsale in knickers).

Twilight, Breaking Dawn, part 1.

I enjoyed it, despite it's bad reviews. It's nothing like any of the earlier series, but I watched with an open mind. It's more about the inter-relationships between the main characters, with few action scenes, although there are tense moments.

I give it 7/10, as I enjoyed it.

From Russia With Love (1963)

Well half watched.

Source Code was on in the background after the movie but I did not understand it, it was the same scene repeated and repeated over and over again. Looper & The Time Machine comes to mind.

The Glass House (2001).

2/10.

Decent cast in a cruddy thriller. I felt the talent was wasted. Small part for Diane Lane who I thought dialled in her performance. Leelee Sobieski teasingly showing bits that I'm sure the director was well aware of (nips, bum creek and camel toe). Last and least was the little brother who spent all his time in the movie playing video games.

TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES - 9/10 great first outing from the shellshockers it wasn't the most profitable independant movie after dirty dancing for nothing!!! very nice action sequences, terrific charactisations and an almost zen-like approach to it's storytelling!

UHF - 8/10 creative low budget comedy from wierd al yankovich

DIE HARD - 10/10 STILL a sensational action movie that broke rule after rule of the genre, with terrific acting in such a movie, and even it's sensitive moments startle!

SOURCE CODE - 8/10 straight forward sci fi but with a nice twist

Still the best US actioner ever made IMHO.

Over the weekend I finally got around to seeing The Sweeney - well, about 45 minutes of it because it was frikkin' dreadful. Dull, cliched, lazy film-making at its worst (or should that be best?)

Ray Winstone didn't even bother acting and seemed to think that a slurred growl would suffice. I had to keep turning the sound up to hear what he was saying and then turn it back down when he'd finished speaking. Ben Drew had no screen presence whatsoever and sounded like a schoolboy rather than a sergeant in the Met. In fact, the whole dynamic between Winstone and Drew felt more like a bloke bringing his grandson into his office on one of those Yank-inspired 'bring your <insert family member> to work' days.

The cinematography was uniformly dreadful; everything (even the interiors) shot through that blue-grey filter that was only even vaguely edgy by the time that Ronin was released.

In the same way that funds get started to encourage new writers, directors etc, can we please start one to discourage NIck Love from ever inflicting his special kind of cliched Brit gangster shite on filmgoers ever again?

Lincoln - 10/10 - fantastic film, very long and slow in places but Daniel Day Lewis was mesmerising as President Lincoin

Dream House - well. blimey. a wobble in the middle when I thought, wait a minute what the hell is going on now? Then it's all a bit murder/horror/mystery by the numbers. I'll give it 7.5/10.

Daniel Craig is lucky to be hitched to Rachel Weisz. She is lovely.

Prometheus - I enjoyed it though some of it was a bit predictable - looking forward to the sequel though.

I watched Project X the 2012 one last night on Sky HD.
I found it was quiet funny.
Also had a good soundtrack to.
I gave it 6 out of 10.

I thought this was a pretty good film too...my brother actually walked out of the room half way through the film. Not because the film wasn't good but the little girl freaked him out !

The Extraordinary Adventures Of Adele Blanc-Sec. Utterly bonkers and really rather wonderful. I did think there were one or two plot holes though.
