Lay the Favourite - 2/10

Lead character was too annoying and Vince Vaughn was in it. 2 problems that are hard to look past.

That's the thing - it was on at 9pm! Daft really, as the scene they cut was the 2 fisherman on the jetty, and one gets pulled in when the chain link is snagged by Jaws, so the only part shown was the guy scrambling back onto the bank.

Maybe it was due to time constraints

ITV4 have been putting on some great films recently, that otherwise have been sidelined by other channels for years.

I also watched The Silence of the Lambs, which I don't think I've watched since after it's release.

Now ITV4 have The Shining on...

Completely agree. Excellent work from Carey Mulligan and Andrew Garfield. Although, if it's on TV I may just tune in again.....

I watched Home Alone on Wednesday night. One part I love is when the two crooks are in the police car. When Kevin (Macaulay Culkin) is watching this from his window, he waves at them while smiling as his way of taunting them. I actually laughed at that part

Father of the Bride Part II [1995]. Director: Charles Shyer

4/10

Slushy sequel drowns in sentimentality.

Thoroughly enjoyed it. Enthralled from first minute to last. Deserved Oscar nomination for Denzel Washington.

Psycho (1960) - 10/10 - a masterpiece by the master of suspence, suburb acting by Anthony Perkins and Janet Leigh, a true classic

I just adore this film. I think its the best Rom-com from the last 20 years. So funny, and sad, and great acting. Each and every character is interesting.
I completely agree. I'm not normally into rom-coms either so I am hard to impress.

But having rewatched it and still loving it, I'm going to give this a 9/10 too.

Blade - 8/10
Despite the dodgy CGI, still very re-watchable.

Blade 2 - 6/10
Oh dear, this has not aged well at all, what a mess.

(And I'm going nowhere near Blade 3)

Paranorman - 6/10 - Really liked the second half, but was bored during the first.
The Sessions - 8/10 - Enjoyed this, the script toed the line perfectly between serious and funny, but the highlights were the two excellent performances from Helen Hunt and John Hawkes, who was robbed of an Oscar nomination. I think the film deserved a nomination as well.

Resurrecting The Champ

Great story and excellent performances from Samuel L. Jackson and Josh Hartnett. Was nice to see Kathryn Morris(Lily Rush from Cold Case) too.

robo cop 1 and 2

8 and 7.5 out of 10 respectively

pretty violent and gory compared to today's offerings where multiple shoot ups rarely result in any visible injuries...

Ruby Sparks. Clever idea, but I didn't really enjoy this. Ended up not liking the main character, so didn't care if he got the girl or not. Kinda dull.

Paranorman. Forgot I watched this, but I really liked it. Great animation and a nice little story. Will definitely freak some kids out though, although others will adore it

A Lonely Place To Die

The first 20 minutes or so were pretty unremarkable but then it exploded into life and I was on the edge of my seat for the remainder. Action-packed, and not for the faint of heart.

7.5/10
