A fair few yesterday

Margaret - Not what I expected at all tbh . Overall quite good but some bits were very arty and pretentious

The Challenger (Tv movie). Very good William Hurt played the part well.

Taxi Driver . Absolute masterpiece.

Mars Attacks! - 8/10

It's just so much fun. And all the cameos are hilarious.

The Happening 6.5/10 - A strange, horrible and unprecedented crisis begins in Central Park. A high school science teacher, his wife and a young girl do what they can to survive it.

This is the second time I've seen this film. Although it's entertaining enough, it's also nothing special.

Perrier's Bounty 4/10 - A gangster named Perrier looks to exact his revenge on a trio of fugitives responsible for the accidental death of one of his cronies.

My partner gave up on this film about 20 minutes in so we switched to something else. However for the 20 minutes I had seen, it hadn't done enough to make me feel like putting it back on again when my partner isn't around.

But I have to admit that it might be worth watching just to see some reasonably prominent British actors doing really dodgy Irish accents!

Rust and Bone.

I didn't know much about this movie and certainly didn't know what Marion Cotillard's role would involve. Though I do confess to watching the movie for her involvement.

In my mind I was expecting this to be a deeply emotional and moving movie. It wasn't for me a tearjerker.

However, I did enjoy it an the peformances are excellent.

7/10.

Got around to Piranha 3DD at last. It was just about preferable to watching the paint drying season on CH4.

Stepping Out with Liza Minnelli, Shelley Winters and Julie Walters. Brilliant! 10/10. Shame this is not on DVD yet.

Saw it on one of the Sky Movies channels earlier, today.

Before that, Parked with Colm Meaney [Star Trek DS9] and Colin Morgan [Merlin], on DVD, three weeks ago. 7/10. Was a copy that I had got out of my local library.

W Imie (In the name of...) 3/10

A Polish film on a priest being gay. A really interesting subject but it is poorly written and executed. I was so bored watching it tonight.

I think I'll give this one a miss, then. Doesn't seem my thing.

Is this the one with Ray Winstone from 1979? Or am I thinking of something else?

Working Girl is a very good film. I must have seen this about 12 times during my life, so far, it's so good! Really excellent casting, too. Harrison Ford, Sigourney Weaver and Melanie Griffith, are all great in this. I've got the DVD of the movie. WG is one of my mother's all-time favourites.

One bit that gets me every time, and I start weeping, is just before the credits. When the camera zooms out and we see the World Trade Centre towers. Also Carly Simon singing Let The River Run. Ooh! I feel a bit weepy now.

Our Family Wedding [2010]. Director: Rick Famuyiwa

3/10

Hollywood wedding movies are always bad and this one, featuring a black groom and Mexican-American bride is particular cringeworthy.
