Zero Dark Thirty - The Bigelow/Boal combination really comes up trumps with a riveting film that really should have won the Best Film oscar imo. 9.5/10

The Help - wonderful film, beautifully played by all the leading ladies. 9.5/10

Octavia Spencer fully deserved her Oscar, and how on earth Meryl Streep beat Viola Davis I will never understand!

Just seen Project X the monkey one.
It was really good actually.
Had some sad bits in but also a happy ending to.
I gave it a 7 out of 10.
If you want to see it though might have to get it else where as there is no DVD

Zodiac 6.5/10

Decent enough story, though I wasn't (and never have been) keen on Fincher's direction.

Sound mix is probably the worst I've ever heard in a hollywood film. Lots of unnecessary background noise, mumbling actors, poor sound balance. I don't mind watching foreign films with sub-titles but it gets on my tits when I need sub-titles to watch films in the english language.

Invaders From Mars 8/10 .. silly but funny and interesting 50s classic B movie

Moonraker ..10/10...i think the bond baddies get the best lines ..loved the line by Drax " look after mr Bond ...make sure some harm comes to him "

Under Siege 2 8/10 ..not quite as good as the brilliant origional but still good !..suprised they didnt (or did they ?) make a third one !

Side Effects (2013)
Brilliant psychological thriller. A thoroughly well-crafted tale with Rooney Mara excelling in the lead role. One of the most enjoyable movies I've seen all year.

9/10

Welcome to the Rileys - 7/10. Not a bad film, and Kristen Stewart actually shows some personality, but I thought James Gandolfini was underwhelming. Melissa Leo held the (very flimsy) story together.

Also recently seen (forgot to post) Shawshank Redemption (9.5/10, how on earth Morgan Freeman didn't win an Oscar is beyond me) and Forrest Gump (9/10, really enjoyed it, but Shawshank should have won the Oscar that year).

Just had a peek at a film called F, which I recorded at the weekend. Just seen where the teacher gets head butted for after giving a little thug an F grade for a paper and then a follow-up interview with the school governors, where they tell him that the kids parents want to sue the school and suggest that he (the teacher) stays away until the kid leaves at the end of the school year in three months time.
This seemed so uncomfortably plausible and created a feeling that there was something truly horrible was on the way, so I've saved it for another time.

Sightseers- very original British comedy that comes across like a more slapstick Dead Mans Shoes.

8/10

Eden (2012)

An alright movie but I got doubt about how true a story it is. Wheres the news storys on the dead bodys, the police investigation Also she knocks a guy out with a spray of something in a bong bottle.. like that would ever happen. I could go on.

Highway Star

A South Korean Comedy about an untalented rock singer who is recruited to sing "trot" music for a struggling talent agency. "Trot" music has been around since the early 1900s and has been described as Korea's version of country music. There are some funny moments (the film struggles a bit over the halfway point) but the romantic plot doesn't work at all. The ending credit had me laughing quite a bit (keep your eye on the piano man). And the music? Well lets just say that "trot" music isn't my thing. For the most part, I enjoyed the film and give it a "3 out of 5" stars.

"Highway Star" is available for streaming on NETFLIX.
