Identity Thief. Not as funny as it could've been. I thought it might've followed a similar plotline to the Friends episode where Monica's identity was stolen by someone with a more fun lifestyle than she had. Instead, we had the protagonists being chased by some badasses which meant some tedious car chases and convoluted plot developments. Like Jason Bateman and thought Melissa McCarthy was good in Bridesmaids but this one was just average and only mildly funny.

Juno 8/10. It was entertaining and didn't have quite the predictable ending I was expecting! I did observe though that Jennifer Garner's facial expressions seemed limited to only concerned and overwhelmed!

Sinister - This film really lives up to it's title, seriously creepy stuff with a weirdly addictive soundtrack. I just hope we don't see a string of increasingly inferior sequels now. 9/10

The Usual Suspects (1995).

Only took me 18 years but finally saw it and loved it.

I think it was only let down by the slightly confusing beginning and the first half hour, but after that it was an amazing film.

9/10. I did not guess the twist at the end, not by a long shot.

Scary Movie 5 -

Rubbish. Boring, predictable and quite frankly I was shocked that the likes of Charloe Sheen, Lindsay Lohan, Snoop Dogg & Mac Miller - all who are into drugs and have been arrested for breaking the law - are being paid to star in a film. They're all waste of spaces that shouldn't still be being cast in films like this - in my opinion.

Ouch.. I felt that one coming already.. I knew a 5th movie was going to be too much, seen the fact that the first one was pretty funny and it went downwards after that. Good to know it's rubbish, I won't have to spend time on it

Anyway I saw James Bond - Skyfall. 7/10

Good movie, nice effects and all, but not a real James Bond movie. I'm not a big fan of Daniel Craig being James Bond in the film.

Final (2001)

Slow-paced, ultra-low budget sci-fi drama with strong performances from Dennis Leary and Hope Davis.

Saw this at the weekend.

Good lord, what a pile of utter shite.

The plot had more holes in it than a fishing net and I dunno if it was intentional but the Diane character didn't come across as funny or cheeky or spirited or anything else praiseworthy.
I actually spent the entire film wondering why he didn't just break her legs and take her to a police station and I'm not sure that's the sort of thoughts a comedy is supposed to create in the audience.

By the time it'd been on 20 minutes I found myself watching the audience as much as the movie and I noticed that there wasn't much in the way of laughter during the film and the stuff that did provoke muted chuckles were almost always visual gags involving a fat woman being ungainly.

Yay! let's all laugh at the fat woman who waddles along when she's trying to run.
Real classy premise for a movie.

Norwegian Wood - 8/10

Love the book but I couldn't really see how it could be adapted to film. I think this is a good attempt though and it captures the melancholy tone pretty perfectly in the latter half. Johnny Greenwood's score is worth a mention too.

Good Dick - I'd seen it before but watched it again the other night. Never seen a film like it, happy to deal with awkward issues without dramatising them .

The basic premise is a young man who falls in love/infactuation with a lonely young woman who is uninterested in relationships and especially sex. His efforts to get her to let her barriers down is a really good watch.

Jack the giant slayer - thought it was really poor
Oz the great and powerful - slow in parts but enjoyed it.
The Croods - loved it! Seen it twice and liked it just as much the second time.
