What kind of existing artist would he be most similar to?

Eh? Are you saying the only artists making music today are popstars?

Why do you keep referring to popstars? The OP asked which artist he's most like, not which popstar.

To answer the op, Chris's style is similar to Buble, Tony Bennet, Manilow, Nat King Cole etc. Easy listening, lift music, muzak, whatever you call it.

Jane McDonald.
He'll sell one album reasonably well while nans and grans remember him and then disappear on to a cruise ship somewhere.

That guy who won BGT, Jai McDowall or something. One album, will be a massive flop, and then will fade into obscurity.

I doubt he'll even be invited back to perform on the live shows of X Factor 2013.

I see the x factor site is saying this morning that Christopher is the ONLY contestant now to have never been in the bottom 2, so that suggests that Jahmene was in fact in the bottom 2 last night

To compare these artists to him is insulting to them.

Only time will tell. Statistically I'd have to say no, but every now and again there's a breakthrough. Who'd have thought Susan Boyle would shift records by the skip load? That's the problem with easy listening (with music fans, not the genre). It's easy to dismiss it as it's not trendy or cool, but it's damn hard to do well as it's all about the voice; you can't hide behind electronics or samples of better records. Personally, I'm not a fan of Buble (too light and frothy for my taste) but I know millions of people are. Sinatra or Dean Martin on the other hand....

Jai McDowall was not a great winner and louis walsh was right about him even though louis was quoted as so nasty to jai in the dailystar but louis was right and louis is hopeing chis does not win though.

I think all the artists mentioned have a lounge / cabaret style which they are all exceptionally good and highly successful at.

Maloney has a cabaret style that he is exceptionally shite at. He has no connection with lyrics, music, audience, nada.

I do hope that was what he/she meant!

I don't think Chris can be compared to Buble, Sinatra, Manilow etc because they are all at the top of their craft. This guy was struggling with singing lessons from the very average vocals of Gary Barlow. Chris's voice just sounds like a fog-horn.

There is a huge market out there for lounge music and the type of music that they don't play on Capital, Radio 1, Kiss etc.

Daniel O'Donnel, who many of you will not have heard of, is the ultimate 'knitted sweater' artist appealing to the 'Mums and Nans' type of audience. Yet he has had an album in the UK top 40 every year for 25 years.

Chris's market is out there, but it's more Radio 2, Real Radio and Magic FM to which millions listen and millions buy music from.

And one Syco just don't get.

I think Christopher would sell the most out of the three left, I genuinely do.
