DHD4000 - removing files from HDD
Hi. I'm sure I've read a thread a while back about getting the files off a DHD4000 onto PC or whatever, but can't find it now.
Basically, I moved to a Humax Foxsat HDR a few years back, and the DHD4000 moved into a cupboard. I now want to send the DHD400 to a nice retirement home, but want to remove the programs from the HDD beforehand. (Our tv stand has no room to accommodate another box) Firstly, anyone know if the format of the files on the 2 different Thomson & Humax systems are compatible? If they were, I'd be looking for a way to transfer the files from the DHD4000 to the Foxsat HDR. If they are not compatible, I want to get the files onto my PC so that I can have the programs sitting there waiting to be watched. I've connected the DHD4000 drive to my Foxsat via a USB caddy, but the Foxsat says the HDD file system is incompatible. My PC can't recognise the DHD4000 HDD either. Either way, I need to find out how to make my HDD drive recognisable to the PC so I can transfer the files onto the PC. Then I can transfer them direct to my Foxsat (if they are compatible), or I need to find some applications that will allow me to view the programs on my PC. I know this is a big ask, but if anyone has the knowledge, or some pointers even, I'd be really grateful. Cheers |

I've not done this type of data transfer myself, but if you do a search for the thread on "Data Extraction" I'm sure you will find some useful info there.
Good luck, Pop |
