Some may still remember Chris if they haven't got the money for intensive counselling and ECT

As someone wrote before, depends what kind of music they release and who their contract is with. If its with Syco, forget it!

Lucy didn't make it to the final. Of course we'll remember the ones we supported. I don't think I'd forget JLS even if they hadn't been so successfuly. I haven't forgotten the lovely Maria who got voted out of the same X Factor that Andy Binman went on to win (he was a bin man, you know), the one that Brenda nearly won but didn't (presumably because she'd never worked in refuse collection).
I must admit I had to think twice when someone mentioned Leon though! I still haven;t got a clue who Olly Murs is, by the way ![]() |

It is the first year I am uninterested in who is going to win, Jahmene is the best of a poor bunch but even he has a long way to go.

Joe released his 4th album recently and does TV and theatre work as well as recording. If that's what you call bombing, what do you call succeeding?

I doubt it.
I remember the final 3 from last year, see: 3rd. Amelia Lily 2nd. Marcus Collins 1st. Little Mix. And the year before: 3rd. One Direction 2nd. Rebecca Ferguson 1st. Matt Cardle And the year before: 3rd. Stacey Solomon 2nd. Olly Murs 1st. Joe McElderry And the year before: 3rd. Eoghan Quigg 2nd. JLS 1st. Alexandra Burke And the year before: 3rd. Same Difference 2nd. Rhydian Roberts 1st. Leon Jackson And the year before: 3rd. Ben Mills 2nd. Ray Quinn 1st. Leona Lewis My point is of course we'll remember who the final three were because none of us are idiots. Therefore I think this thread is rather pointless. |

James Arthur is the only one I think might still be going. He has a sound that is current and whilst I hate him, I have to be honest. Jahmene, the guy with all the charisma of a dead fish, is going to go down the route of Joe/Leon/Marcus and will fade away into obscurity, win or lose.
Chris will probably release an album but it will be in bargain bins before August. The most uninteresting final three ever. |

Can't remember now." |

I expect I will buy Chris' album because I think he is a good singer and is likely to record the type of cover songs that I like to listen to.
James and Jahmene are not my taste but I am sure they will do well in their careers just as Olly Murs has. I bought Joe McElderdry's, Rhydian's, Alexandra Burke's and G4's albums and Matt Cardle's winners single and I still play them all. I may even buy a Union J album and a District3 album dependant on the cover song tracks. Of all of this years' contestants Rylan is the most memorable for me and I wouldn't be suprised if Kye Sones does well. |

For technical singing ability, Joe McElderry couldn't hold a candle to Jahmene. He was always destined for the theatre. Mat Cardle isn't even in the same street as James. |

Oh and musical theatre isn't somewhere you can get away with out being able to sing and sing well - every night, every song. |

Totally disagree - can't imagine Joe ever singing anything as badly as Jahmene sung Moves Like Jagger and I'd much prefer to listen to Matt than James .
Jahmene needs discipline, but McEldry couldn't touch his vocal gymnastics. Having said that, neither singer does anything for me, personally. Mat Cardle always seemed to sing in too high an octave. Each to their own, though. |

As you say each to their own - and I am not a fan of vocal gymnastics, whoever does them.

Answer is definitely not - as in all previous years apart from the odd person.
James cannot sing, and his type of music is so limited he won't sell. The other guy (forget his name) is as has been said a poor man's Joe, and again too limited to sell. Do we really want to buy a whole album of vocal gymnastics? Anyone who's ever listened to a Swiss radio station that plays yodelling record after yodelling record will know the answer to that one, and yes - such stations DO exist! Chris won't do well with record sales, but on the basis that he can actually sing well (unlike the other two who are quite bad actually, with James being dreadful at best) so he might turn up in musical theatre. The other two would be best advised to enjoy the tour then sign on the dole. |

I've usually forgotten them by the time the squashed up credits at the end of the show have stopped rolling!

I think James will have no problem making an impact in the charts. He is contemporary, urban, and not too niche. Jahmene on the other hand is boring, lacks personality, generic, and will be failed by Syco. As for Chris, he could do well in theatre/musicals, or maybe just singing on a cruise ship!
![]() I think Ella will probably have the odd hit, and maybe Union J but they will soon fade away with the far superior boy groups already in competition. |
