Low quality SD streams on a crap composite connection, great way to watch films.

Then use a component connection instead.
I've not actually tried Lovefilm on Wii myself, but if the quality is anything like whats on Netflix as thats pretty descent at 480p.(well at least no worse than BBC or ITV on Freeview)

I suspect the number of users with a Wii and component lead in the UK can be counted on 1 hand, and that includes me.

I just downloaded it this evening. Didn't get chance to see what the streaming quality was like as the OH was moaning about watching football , and I'm not unplugging it all to set up in the bedroom.

That's one issue I had with instant when I signed up on my Sony BD player.
There were loads of films and TV shows that were only available via PC. I cancled once my 30 day trial was coming to an end.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread. I have BTInfinty, using powerplugs so I have decent lan speed. I have used lovefilm app on my sony bluray, connection good but choice of films poor. The selection on the Wii is much greater but why is is it so poor when it comes to viewing?
It constantly judders and occassionaly the video halts whilst the audio carries on. It seems no different to the wifi connection.
Any suggestions to improve the connection?
Thanks

Received this reply from Lovefilm after complaining of buffering problems;

Thank you for your email regarding the LOVEFiLM Instant on Wii.

Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused.

I'm afraid I must advise you that currently we are facing a technical
problem whilst customers trying to stream via Wii, this is a known issue
and we are working on it.

• If this happens for the very first time, you can select the
‘Retry’ button or ‘Cancel’ to go back to the product page.
• If you select ‘Retry’, the video player will restart itself.
• When this happens you could see the buffering icon for up to 20
seconds before playback starts again.
• If this happens again you can only ‘Cancel’, and then restart
playback from the product page.

Have you tried changing your DNS to Google DNS or Open DNS?

Sorry, I'm not sure what that means!

I was watching the lovefilm app off my sony last night and was getting over 30mps streaming and the quality was excellent.
