I guess it would be fair to say that he was a cantankerous old git. Which might be fine normally, but he didn't seem to have much of a sense of humour. Especially regarding himself whenever the joke was on him.
But when Ant and Dec came along to tell campers who was doing the next trail or who was going home next he seemed to brighten up and be more like his TV persona. A bit of a 'Roger Mellie the Man off the Telly'. When he's on TV he seems all fun and smiles, when he's not then he's a completely different personality. |

Dicko certainly is a bit of an enigma. I get the impression from his Real Deal show that he has quite a big ego and is rather full of his own importance.
As I say, I don't know if that was really true or not. |

I think him appearing on the show was basically the end of his tv career.
He didn't come across well at all and I tihnk was extremely shocked when he was given the boot so early on. He was part of a great series though - C. Thatch all the way

He was one of those who was definitely very different than I had expected. Quite liked him previously but went off him VERY quickly. Arrogant, selfish and bad tempered!

Yes, I was also disappointed in him, he didnt seem to join in much, was grumpy and went out very early. He always looked a bit seedy before he went in, so him in jungle vest and shorts was not very good on the eye.
I always remember him on a programme where he put up his own money and advised contestants what to buy, his rival dealers played a prank and told them, he didnt know what he was talking about and was dated, the contestants believed them and told this to David and he really blew his top and threw his dummy out of the pram, so I have never been a fan of his since. |
