How do you think x-factor would do if instead of ages the groups were done by the era of songs that the act will focus on,i feel
1-60s and 70s
2-80
3-90s
4-00s and today
i would watch it as i know i will love the 80s singers,my parents would watch as they love 60s/70s my 2 nephews love 00s and todays.something for everyone

Unless the winning act was to have an entire career based solely on releasing albums filled with covers from that particular era, there's no way it would work.

Plus, the silly little girls who vote dozens of times a week would get rid of the people who sang the older stuff in there droves.

Well that's going to be Baloney's career, surely?

I don't think it would work.

There are enough problems with people singing songs that are allegedly too "dated", too "urban", too "unknown". As another poster has already said, the screaming tweens (who I assume make up a lot of the voting revenue) aren't going to vote for any act consistently performing songs they're not familiar with.
