Whether you love him or loathe him, there is no denying that this season would have been boring with Maloney. The Liverpool singer divided opinions between judges, the public and the media. He consistently made headlines and generated reactions from all sectors.

If he wasn't on this season's X Factor, there would have been much less publicity and media coverage for the show.

I would have enjoyed it a lot more! focus on the singing not the overgrown child!

All this press and media , will make him a few more quid than he expected . No news is bad news , headlines make stories , stories makes money

Without the press he probably would of gone out week 1-2
And made nothing from this show,

So it won't be all bad for him , not bad for a karaoke singer !!!

Well it has been nothing about singing that's for sure, but has it ever?

I was entertained until Rylan left. My interest waned massively this week - I'd go as far as to say I was bored on Saturday. I still had it on, but more in the background than actively watching it.

As opposed to it being boring with him.

It's true. Chris has made this season. Viewing figures may have fallen again but without Chris they'd have totally collapsed. Imagine James and Jahmene having to sell the final to the public on cod innovation and wild, wild sob stories? It would be disastrous. People would not be prepared to watch that in any real number. Chris has saved it, whatever happens at the weekend.

Christopher cops more abuse on here than a famous paedophile would put up with. It is a shame our once great country has fallen to such a large extent. If you love Gary Glitter then carry on cussing Christopher.

Gullible viewers have saved it more than any of the acts. Sadly in my house other people choose to watch it.

It proved it this week how much Rylan was missed ,

I openly deny this absolutely — Christopher Maloney is flat, bland, dry, stale, tired, banal and tedious beyond the edge of reason. There was/is plenty to generate headlines without him. I resent his stupid storyline intruding upon and taking over 2012 X Factor. I wish him all luck for the future in keeping this ridiculous persona up in persuading people to buy his dire wares.

Oh come on you moaners you know the OP is right after all you would have nothing to moan about if Chris was not there and would be on here with nothing to say.

Eh, no. This is like someone saying, "Thank god we got the foot and mouth disease this summer, otherwise it'd be a very boring year".

Your past posts say other wise as you talked about him a few time therefore you must have some interest in him to talk about him. Therefore he cant bore you like you say he does because if so you wouldnt feel the need to talk about him.

I would have had plenty to 'moan' about without Creature Christopher Maloney. You want me to list the moans I could moan? I think not. I think you've just thrown something in to make the thread move along.

You may have other things to moan about, But seen as your moaning about Chris more than anything is just shows us he does interest you .

After all if something does not interest someone they nomaly dont bother about it.

It has become boring for me with him still in the competition because I don't often talk about him or moan about him, I don't even hate him. Its just indifference, and that's boring.

The point is that there appear to be less 'gullible viewers' than usual this year and as Christopher is the only act who has kept the show in the wider public eye (the only one the press and wider media have considered report-worthy) it is reasonable to extrapolate that he has countered the falling figures to some degree and thus staved off total collapse.

But you are right now in this very thread that is about him

I did add "often" to reflect that, on second thoughts. I came into the thread to disagree that Chris was keeping the show interesting and watchable, because for me that ended when Rylan left instead.

Not quite. It is more like X Factor fans (the sort involved enough to chat about the show on internet forums) saying: "thank god we've had Maloney to sell the show to the press and casual viewer (crucial majority market) otherwise ITV would have dumped the show and we would not have an X Factor next year."

Sarcastic smiles will continue to be thrown at people such as you and I who have entered and responded to this thread saying the bore that is Maloney must interest us because we are discussing him. This is absurd. He doesn't interest me no matter how many may beg to differ — he peeves me. I wish I'd never caught a whiff of him. He peeved me with his pathetic antics from the beginning. I wish to see his 'career' buried, never to be alluded to anywhere through any medium again.

You come to expect it year after year on the X Factor forum, there's an act every series that some posters support/pretend to support in order to appear funny, controversial and "in on the joke". It actually was quite funny when it first started happening, with Mr Blonde and a few others years ago. These days... its so overdone and re-hashed that its best to just let it pass you by, really.

Christopher or no Christopher - hasn't made very much difference to me.
