Congratulations to Jahmene for becoming an ambassador for Woman's Aid. If there is anyone young kids should look up to, it is Jahmene for so many reasons

good for him but this is singing competition, becoming ambassador days before the final is bound to lead to suggestions of a convenient vote boosting exercise

Don't really care about the voting - he has made it now, becoming ambassador I should think is more meaningful and important to him!

I have to agree with you on this one.

I wish they'd stop all these sob stories once and for all.

I daresay if it were a rule that no one with a sob story was allowed to get through you'd not hear a flaming squeak out of the contestants.

They should hush the papers and tell them to keep quiet until after the competition.

It's more Dear Deirdre than the X factor these days.

I don't care if he's ambassador of anything excepting to ask what is your source for this information?

He attended the Empowering Women's Awards. Not quite the same as being an official ambassador for Women's Aid.

Unofficially I think he has done a great job at raising awareness of domestic violence.

He was on this Morning saying he is embassador today.. The Women's Aid group are clever getting someone who is high profile at the moment as part of their campaign to raise awareness to their cause.
By the way he is ambassador for Children and young adults .. If you click on the link he comes up

With respect to his unhappy background and his age he really is going to need some kind of media training if he is going to become anything other than a very good (if a little bit dated for his age) singing voice......his interviewing style is very uncomfortable to watch and his sense of humour or ability to take himself anything less than 100% seriously only seems to extend to that nervous silly childlike giggle, there also seems to be a slightly righteous sounding moral stance creeping in too.All in all disappointing.

^^ This
I have a friend who is a councillor for women's aid. The work they do is incredible and at the moment my friend's is unpaid. She does it as she can see the difference it makes.
If Jahmene's current celebrity status helps the charity in any way at all then I'm sure he'll be more than happy to do that and raise all the awareness he can.

There's always a massive VT in the final

But that usually focuses on the finalists going back to their hometowns.

I completely agree, i was impressed this morning on This Morning when he said he was unhappy with being party of the group performance that saw Ella @ 16 yrs old singing lyrics with a sexual content (whatever that was) he dosent want to compramise his principals!! good on him!!

Yes I agree up to a point. We all have principals and yet, so I've read, he is a huge fan of Whitney.......who wasn't exactly squeaky clean in the 'let me set an example' fashion.

I'm not picking on Jahmene, it's a fab thing to have principals, but he will need to keep it in perspective.

At 16 Ella is old enough to sing a song with lyrics containing sexual content (I don't know what that was either) as she is of the legal age to indulge should she so wish. However, if she was 11 I'd have a problem with it.

Even Cliff Richard sang about a Devil Woman, with evil on her mind LOL!

he seems a lovely guy but that's ridiculous

It was the Katy Perry song

the age of consent is 16 and if Ella was happy to sing it he shouldn't use her as the reason he didn't want to sing it
