Except the boys they list don't actually have a primary demographic of teens or pre-teen girls.
By the way she is voting for JA. |

Not sure how you know that but my teen sister and most of her mates loved Joe and Matt but shed be embarrassed to admit that now.
By the way she is voting for JA. But i think all of the contestants do actually suffer from the time delay after the show, in particular any younger fans they may have who get impatient. |

I think honestly its really hard to pinpoint who has what fans, again i have seen varied ages that support JA, heck my mum supports JA and she is 71.

james has retweeted tweets from young male fans. could these young male fans who see him as "credible" and "cool" enough be enough to counteract the "curse of the XF boys"?

James isn't a pretty boy, though....as in...he isn't the type to have a massive teen girl following. That slot was filled by D3 and Union J this year.

This is a good article from a year ago about the X Factor curse (the Matt Cardle prophecy having since come true):
http://www.guardian.co.uk/tv-and-rad...winners-doomed I found the third paragraph down particularly pertinent to young Arthur. I also like this comment on the article, very true: "The men's main appeal is to early-teen and pre-teen girls. By the time their proper album is ready a year later, their fan base has usually moved on to the next pretty boy. A year is a long time when you're that age." Thoughts? |

Good point, also I think the success of Ed Sheeran has done much to improve the lot of X Factor boys who have that whole indie one-man-and-a-guitar schtick.
I would imagine that the delay of a year has something to do with their commitments to the tour as well, it must be difficult to find the studio time to try and get an album out at the same time. Are young female teens more impatient than young male teens? |

I think your original post was quite interesting, will these younger fans of James still be interested a year from now?

That article is more pertinent to Jahmene than James to be frank. Arthur has potential to succeed because he appeals to a wider target in my opinion than Douglas who has the teen vote this year. He certainly doesn't appear to appeal to the teen contributors on DS. Douglas will win but I think he will follow the likes of Ward and McElldery on the scrap heap.

Her album has sold 600k and is certified double-platinum. She has done very, very well indeed. Unlike Cardle, she has not been dumped by her label, forcing her to record and release via a micro-label. Her second album, when it is made will be properly funded and marketed internationally by Sony.

First album sales don't guaratee second album sales, as Alexandra knows
![]() And the the only solo XF acts to increase sales from 1st to 2nd album are both male aren't they - Joe M & Olly M? |

I don't know how true this is when you consider that Cher's album sold less than Matt's and Little Mix are at present trailing behind his album sales also. LM opened with 53k compared to Matt's 70k.
But we will see how the next single does. |
