Last night I watched auditions/first few performances from Carolynne Poole, Jade Ellis, Kye Sones, Ella Henderson, Lucy Spraggan and MK1. I can't believe that the most colourful, entertaining acts (bar James Arthur) were gone so early. I literally had no interest in most of the acts that kept surviving.

Next year, I hope there's a crazy Ke$ha/P!nk/Avril Lavigne type girl. We need acts that shake it up!

Which act do you wish was in the final? I'd love Carolynne

I really thought that producers were going to throw their weight behind the Overs category this year but it has ended up being the exact opposite.

At the auditions I also thought this was going to be a great series, I liked Kye, Lucy, MK1, Times Red and James Michael oh and the band that didnt get through because of visas ( cant remem name)

Only a handful of acts improved since the auditions, the rest got worse almost. I agree, it had so much potential too.

Ella could've went on to win but Tulisa kept insisting on taking risks when it wasn't needed. I don't know what was going through her head when she gave her that song in week 4, it totally alienated all of her support.

This is something i agree with and it baffles me.

James /Rylan maybe an exception but the rest went downhill for me,

Nornally they get better as it goes along but not this year.

I agree I think it was mostly the song choices

You can add UJ to that list too, although they didn't really start off as strong as the others so the only way was up.

Honestly it's so confusing. I think it would work better if the contestants got to pick their own songs, their singoffs are normally their best.

Kye Sones and Carolynne Poole were colourful and entertaining?

I was only really sad to have lost Melanie Masson so soon, but even then she didn't do a great performance on the night or the sing-off.

Jade for me. The reason why more contestants seem to get worse is because of the songs chosen for them. i.e. the Sugababes song Jade got the week she went

I'd be super interested if Rylan & Jade were there with James. But this finale is a little dull, Chris & Jahmene don't excite me.

I forget what happens in the final does everyone that got to live shows perform together

Just 'omg' at the lack of mentions for Melanie Masson tbh, her voice is unbelievable!

Looking back to the start of the lives, it was a really exciting series with huge potential. Ella, Jade, Melanie, Carolynne, Kye and James were brilliant and would all have been great winners. Kye, Carolynne and especially Jade were bussed though, I maintain that Jade could have won had she been handled properly like Rebecca Ferguson.

I personally had a feeling that this year would be terrible from the auditions. Watching acts like distric 3 get standing ovations was a sign that the quality of contestants was going to be extremely poor.

I'm not really surprised though - the show has been going for 9 years, and the talent pool in a small country like this is only so deep. Take away the singers who wouldn't be seen dead on a reality show and you're running out of good people to choose from.

BIB - Didnt we have that last year (or was it the year before) with Kitty (sure thats her name??) and Katie Waissal (sp)? And Misha B kinda fell into that type too, didnt she? Louis and Tulisa jealousy comments aside (I bought her single, the one with video where she has face paint etc, didnt realise it was 'THE' Misha for a good week or so!!).

I really liked Jade and Ella from their auditions but they didn't 'grow' during the live shows imo. Bad song choices maybe but something sure went wrong with their development and progression.

None of the 3 finalists excite me but I'd rather see Jahmene or James win than Christopher. The clip we saw of Chris singing when he was about 17 shows how little he has progressed as an artist and a performer - still karaoke.

The top 12 was very strong. A lot of very talented and unique singers (Jade, Lucy, Ella, Jahmene, Melanie, Carolynne, MK1...) A combination of poor mentoring, bad judging and idiotic public voting has spoiled this series.

MK1 were as fake as the football team which they share part of their name.

I'd happily flip the elimination order backwards from this series.
Not necessarily for Carolynne to be the winner, but I'd have certainly enjoyed the last few being Carolynne, Melanie, MK1 and Jade.

It's also means Chris, Rylan and both boybands would have gone in the first half of the series.

Actually think a lot of the biggest potential went home before it got to live shows. I think Amy would have been a big character , joseph whelan would have added some rock etc....in truth i think a lot of the live show picks were bland and boring

Top 13 if you include Christopher - or don't you
