I think the decision to let Carolynne go and Rylan stay set the tone and it was downhill from there, If Rylan had been taken a tad more seriously and been allowed to sing more than perform mad routines it could also have been very different, the series has been quite horrendous and i will be glad enough when its all over.

Hard to believe the Overs and the Girls were supposed to be the ones to watch from day 1 of this years series

Hardly anyone can bear to look at or listen to Baloney, and he's looking strong to go on and win the whole thing at the moment

Tulisa let last year's win go to her head and tried to make Ella into something she wasn't and we all saw how that turned out

She will be out in the clearout I reckon, but her temper tantrum when karma bit her on the bum when Ella went was hilarious

Same with Gary, he is clearly fed up with Baloney and it's showing

They are paying the price for the horror show they have inflicted on us this year and it serves them right

The public are not stupid anymore, they know a s**t lineup when they see one and boy has this lineup been s**t

Add to the fact most knew Rylan would stay in until he got on the tour at the expense of the singers with potential

Much needed big changes are coming and not before time

The judges could have saved Carolynne, Kye, Melanie and Jade but it's not just their fault because obviously people weren't voting for them. I don't vote so I can't complain

Why do people like Carolynne so much? She's like a country girl wannabe that tries to act "hip."

Wasnt the "sing off" designed to allow the judges to save good singers from the boot over lesser talents, a kind of insurance policy!! Trouble is IMO know one really can really decide WHAT the programme is really about, is it a serious singing contest?? is it an entertainment show?? is it about the contestants OR the judges?? or is it really about revenue from telephone voting??

I'm not really surprised though - the show has been going for 9 years, and the talent pool in a small country like this is only so deep. Take away the singers who wouldn't be seen dead on a reality show and you're running out of good people to choose from.”

Yeah, i always thought there would be a good chance this would be a poor series, didn't realize quite how bad it would get though

Yeah but is there any point to the X Factor if artists never take any risks? Pop music is generally so retro and staid these days and the X Factor simply means more of the same.

There's been a lot of what if's this series. Wonder what would have happened if every result had been the publics choice. Nothing against anyone, merely wondering.

This year ended up being young males AGAIN.

It's getting boring now.

I honestly don't think that would make a difference as it went to deadlock so many times this year.

I do recon Union J would have been out sooner though.

Hang on a minute. If, as you say, he's looking strong to go on and win..., how can it possibly be the case that "hardly anyone can bear to look at or listen to him"? It can't can it? It's surely a contradictory statement you've made. There are a lot of people enjoying Chris's performances and even more people wanting him to win. That is the fact of the matter (as you've partly acknowledged) and you can make fun of those people to your heart's desire but to claim they don't exist, then to fear their enormous vote in the same sentence is silly.

Why do people think that, if someone is voting for Chris, it's for a joke or to send a message to Cowell or similar. Actually, thousands of people are voting for him because he has a lovely voice, is incredibly talented. As for not being able to bear to look at him, even if you're not a fan of his looks he's much more pleasing to the eye than James Arthur!

The second the sing-off becomes a sing-off again, and not a popularity contest, then the show will do considerably better. A final of Melanie, Jade, Jahmene and perhaps Union J or Ella fourth would have been a respectable final four/five... regardless of how many times they had to be saved.

Louis especially has already made up his mind in spite of the sing off. They should just scrap it.
