Why did Kye Sones fail so miserably?
Just been thinking back to Kye's audition and it was one of my favourite auditions in the show's entire run. He had a lovely voice, appeared to know exactly what his musical identity was, and was one of the more likeable this year. Yet it all fell apart as soon as the Lives started. Why? Is it as simple as completely crap song choices/stying/staging, as I believe which is what went wrong? Or something else?
What do you think? |

'Cause he was boring and had a thin voice and that includes his audition in which I think he should have been given a no.
Zero personality...... zero talent. |

Very, very ugly.
No stage presence whatsoever, in fact, it came across as really desperate. No charm or charisma. Above all, no talent. |

Definitely song choices.
I personally loved his audition, and a number of his performances. I would have wanted him in the final over Chris. But his song choice in week 2 was disastrous. |

He had an air of entitlement to him.
There's a reason he's been a support act all these years |

Constant name dropping of Z listers to whom he was apparently connected, didn’t help either.

His attitude was very annoying, too full of himself.

His vocal in the week 5 group performance was pretty good though.

He lacked likeablity. Also he believed his own hype. The downfall of many sadly.

He was boring on stage, sang out of tune, flat, flat, flat. I'm sure he's a nice lad, but he didn't exactly set the stage on fire.

His voice was okay, a bit mournful in tone, and being flat a lot didn't help. There was no joy, a bit dreary, and perhaps different songs would have helped.
But you can have a far lesser voice than Kye and still make it. So other things also determine success. I guess the main thing is Kye lacks star quality. I also felt that his earlier image was completely wrong, the forward combed long hair and dark-rimmed eyes made him look a little rodentlike. And those denim jackets he favoured. It was important for him to be attractive enough to win over the female vote and build up a fanbase. Compare that with how good he looked towards the end when he had a quiff and different clothes. He was tasty in the end. I posted right at the start of the series that I was anticipating the biggest makeover in Kye, but they left him alone until it was too late. |

Have you seen most people? .....I don't mean people on your telly, I mean out there.......outside, where the actual people are. |

He was boring and thought he was better than he was. I forgot he was even on the show this year, and I'd say it feels more like last year he was on. It seems like ages.

He didn't have "The X Factor".
There was clearly a reason why it hadn't worked out for him before he resorted to entering the show. |

Boring. I forgot he was in the competition every week... I'd forget his name all the time... I'd forget he existed, basically. I was surprised he lasted as long as he did.

Always seemed to me he was trying too hard - there was nothing natural about his performances and I just couldn't connect with him. I think he was desperate and tried to make the most of what he saw as his 'last chance'.
