Hello,

I'm 16 months into a 24 month contract with Three.

For reasons I don't need to get into - I wish to cancel my contract with them and move on to pastures new.

Has anyone had experience with cancelling with Three?

Is it easy - and do you have to pay any cancellation fee or just the remaining cost of the contract? (in my case 8 x £30)

Thanks

to answer, for reasons I don't want to get into, you will need to buy out your contract.

Expect to have to pay for the rest of the contract. I also remember reading on here that getting them to cancel involved a long and painful phone call, so make sure you leave plenty of time for that!

My call to Three to cancel wasnt too bad.

Maybe 20 mins?

I did have to pay the outstanding contract off, I was going to let it run but not use it, but I wanted the number, only way was to pay the outstanding contract off.

Was worth it though, getting far too many dropped calls when mobile in rural areas, far more than I had ever had with any other network.

Why did it take 20 minutes? Trying to talk you out of it? Why done they just do what you ask them to?

Of course they want to try and understand why you want to leave and if there's anything they can do to keep you as a customer. Why do you have such a problem with that?

If it's coverage at home they can offer you a picocell that plugs in and gives you 3G coverage. If it's price they can sometimes discount to keep you as a customer.

A lot of companies try to keep you, I don't see why people have such a problem with them trying to save you as a customer. What have they got to lose? if you get funny about it you were leaving anyway! They also want to try and log the information in as much detail as they can about why you have left, because when they do the management reports they will look at the primary causes of churn and address them to try and retain more customers.
