X Factor Simon Cowell has told Cheryl Cole to name her price to get her back onto the show next year.

It’s been widely reported that the current panel will be refreshed, with Gary Barlow, Tulisa and even Louis Walsh at risk. Only Nicole Scherzinger is seemingly safe, although she confessed she wouldn’t want to stay if Simon came back! Fortunately for Nicole, Simon’s already ruled out an X Factor return, but is still planning a big shake up of the panel.

Louis will be safe lets be honest... and I think Nicole will be basically safe

Gary will leave IMO; he doesn't fit with the nature of the show and if he stays for another year I think his reputation will be damaged further - esp if (or when) Chris wins.

Tulisa I can't see being kept; she may have had success last year with Little Mix, but it has been a dreadful year for her - the sextape thing, the flopping singles/ album, losing all her acts early on and basically coming across as a moody cow.

I think having a great panellist can enliven a show, like putting David Walliams on Britains Got Talent, but Cheryl Cole isn't it IMO. I'm not sure why Simon is so obsessed with getting her back on the panel. Apart from her looks, what else is there?

Sack the whole lot of them and don't let Cheryl back

Well i read a story about tulisa the other week, where apparently the x factors producers went nuts at her for her dressing room parties every show , for smoking in the building and for her bad press about being a home wrecker, she was told to wind her neck in as it was a family show or face the sack, I do NOT believe anything in the press, because everything gets blown out of proportion, but Tulisa was on twitter later that day ranting about it. Saying that they want her to be their robot and media puppet and they can basically take a hike, so i would say there was some truth in that particular story. So I don't see her coming back next year.

Same opinion here really, i doubt, last week apparently Simon had also asked Danii to return but she had supposedly said she would not return until the ratings were better

Urgh I hope Cheryl does NOT return, she wasn't great when she was on it first time IMO. Louis and Nicole should definitely stay for next year, I doubt Tulisa and Gary will want to stay... but please, no more Cheryl!!

She'd lose any credibility she had by taking up this offer after claiming several times that "x factor is in my past now", "I'll never go back".

I was about to say the same thing.

I doubt Cheryl would even enjoy doing the show any more. She seemed to genuinely love mentoring the contestants during her first year but it all went downhill after that. I have a feeling that if she came back she would be like Tulisa has been this year. Everyone would be able to see that she was only doing for the wrong reasons.

As far as 'name your price', Simon needs to realise that throwing money at someone he thinks the people want to see on the panel doesn't always work. Look at Britney.

I'm pretty sure that was widely denied.

I saw her twitter, it was aimed at the media certainly not x-factor producers. Her rant was basically that the media keep making up crap and the public would prefer she is a lifeless robot who didn't offend anyone(zack is proof of that) rather than herself but she refuses to do that, even if it means getting hate to insane levels.

I respect her for stuff like that always. I don't rate her this years x-factor live shows, she's been a bit of a mess, but on a personal level she's a great person.

Well let's wait and see if she can be bought. Money speaks volumes.

Cheryl was a much worse judge than Tulisa. Her comments to Wanger were the final nail in the coffin to me. If anything Tulisa is a far more likable person, yet there seems to be a lot of prejudice regarding her musical background.

Can't see Tulisa staying, TBH. Her album has sold worse in it's first week than even some of the contestants, so she really has no place judging anymore.

Why does SCowell think Cheryl will miraculously make the show popular again? The public opinion of her as a judge was extremely negative during her last year on the show. I know I for one would probably give the show a miss if she came crawling back...

Publicity for a show thats going (slowly) down the pan. I doubt Cheryl would go back but if she is going to name her price ... CHERYL - make it at least £25M.

Sorry, but I think if Cheryl & Nicole were on the same panel- Nicole would outshine Cheryl, because she has more of an over the top (not in a bad way) personality. Cheryl Cole is not the saving grace of the show. Perhaps if Simon hadn't been so selfish in wanting everything, the show might have had a little more hope than it does now.

Simon, Cheryl, Dannii, Louis - the only panel I can see working. Let's be honest, with the 3 of them leaving the show and publics reception have not been the same

I think Simon fawning over Cheryl during the last series togther was seriously cringeworthy.

Cheryl won't save the series. Simon needs to get his ass back over to Britain and at least be involved in the show, maybe as a judge without the mentor role.

Len and Bruno don't seem to have a problem doing Strictly and Dancing with the Stars.

They need to stop putting through joke acts through to the judges houses.

Christopher Maloney winning X factor has been on the cards for a while with the public getting fed up of decent singers going home in place of 'entertainment'.

It will take Mr Cheesy pants to win before Cowell and Co realise the public are biting back.

Why on earth does he want to bring her back, she was ineffectual as a judge, and the only thing she had going for her was her young Audrey Hepburnesque looks and the onscreen chemistry she had with 'Cary Grant' Cowell.

Several summers have moved on and Ms Cole has lost a lot of the youthful bloom she had then, and the chemistry with Cowell will never be the same again, even if he returned to the panel.

Simon seems to have lost his touch, he lumbers from one expensive mistake to another, as clearly illustrated by Britney being paid $15 million. Now he'll pay Cheryl whatever she wants?

The ratings for this show are not failing because of the judges. Inevitably, people are tiring of what is now an old format, and one copied by rival shows until TV saturation point has been reached. The Voice's ratings failed the moment its gimmicks, the only things which set it apart, were suddenly all over half way through (blind auditions and battle rounds) and it turned into just another X Factor.

The way Cowell drops the winners tout suite and/or they fail and the runner-up succeeds (presumably because the repeat-dialing phone vote does not correlate to multiple downloads/physical product sales) has also eroded viewer faith. It seems pointless voting and, after we saw a producer slip Louis a note, there's renewed mistrust. The X Factor needs something new, some tweaks to the format, and some new faces on the judging panel, to help revitalise it.
