Tulisa's album sells only 7000 copies - why so low? |

She recently bought a 6m house so maybe she has more money than we think...i had a listen to her album on YouTube, its not that bad actually, think it deserves a top 10 anyway.

I think it's the combination of a poor product and badly managed PR around her personality. She comes across to me as if she doesn't really know what she wants to be - the rough chav we see warning people not to cross he ron Twitter or the down to earth, strong role model who has been a fantastic carer for her mother.
She isn't particularly talented either. Of course the same equally applies to Cheryl, the obvious one to compare her to - except Cheryl had experience in a massively successful mainstream band behind her before going onto X Factor. She also had a pretty successful start on the show without being caught up in controversy around bullying contestants in her first series (like Tulisa did with Misha B) or dodgy videos being released onto the web. Cheryl also compensates for weak vocals with impressive physical performances, Tulisa just doesn't have the stage presence to be a solo hit. Really good post, agree with what you said

I think tbh Tulisa was probably pushed to a solo album I don't think she really wanted to she felt comfortable in N Dubz and when they decided to take a break she just wanted to TV Stuff but her mangement probaly pushed her to make a solo album to capulise on the being on X Factor.

I'm not really sure what her target audience is.
People who like real "Urban" music won't go near it Anybody over 21 probably won't buy it Can't see any guys buying it Don't think she's a gay icon so, I guess that just leaves 14 year old girls? |

I agree with the poster who said it was bad timing. Not just that but Sight of You was a poor single choice to release before the album, I like Tulisa but the song is just dull and there were better tracks on the album that could have been released instead.
Having said that, Ke$ha's new album is making Tulisa's album look like a huge hit. K$ isn't even top 40. |

There is no denying she has really under-performed. It's hard to see what she will do next. Do N-Dubz get back together, does she change her image or does she become a TV personality? I think the sex tape all but finished her music career. I can't ever see her being a major star now. |

Bad X Factor performance. She had a huge stage to showcase what she has to offer and she blew it. Her personality on this years X Factor hasn't been great either. In all, this year, she portrayed herself to be not very "nice".

Kesha isn't on xfactor or a UK artist. Tulisa should be doing much better than she is.

Dappy went in at #6 with sales of 12,000. Tulisa will easily pass those sales come Sunday despite having a lower chart position. |

Kelly Rowland was semi-popular on X Factor last year and she only Managed #55 with her album; after a X Factor performance. To be honest, with all the hate and bad publicity Tulisa has had this year,i'm suprised she is even top 20. I think it's a shame, I don't think she is a bad girl. It's easy to see she's unhappy on X Factor and being a solo artist, I think she just wants to be back with N-Dubz.
Cheryl Cole was the exception, no one will probably ever repeat her X Factor related success. I think it would of been interesting to see Nicole release an album during the show, since she is supposedly the ''star of the show'' |

She did manage a remarkable feat - turning in a worse performance than Cheryl Cole. And she wore a hood, presumably to hide her embarrassment.

Maybe her fans are edgy/tech savvy urchins who'd never pay for something they can download illegally for free.... perhaps 2.3 million people own her masterpiece but didn't actually buy it.

She's been so unlikeable this year. Even when promoting herself on shows other than The X Factor she has a face like a slapped arse. What's the matter with her?
