But that hasn't stopped numerous equally (if not moreso) crap artists selling record in recent years. The quality of Tulisa's album is irrellevant.

The more important question is why has Tulisa been the unlucky one who has released an album that people care is crap?
That is a very good point.

What a bad way to end the year, flop album and probably sacked from X Factor.

Bet she doesn't use the "I'm looking for someone who can sell records" line on Saturday, she wouldn't dare.
LOL

Oh Tulisa...its not been a good year for her. Hopefully she spills the beans on the X Factor when she quits...she has not looked a happy bunny this year at all. I wonder what producers are saying to *her* behind the scenes to cause her to look so grouchy all the time. I wonder if she didnt get along with her acts...?

Also i dont think she really cares anyway.

Her management probably made her bring this album out and she just went along with it.

I think so too. Probably why she made it an 'Ibiza' album so she can keep the more urban material with N-Dubz.

good question. I can only guess that some crap is well disguised, some crap is 'relevant' crap (whatever that means), and some crap is well marketed crap.

I'm guessing to the buyers of crap (whoever they are) it's the wrong sort of crap...but i dunno

I just don't know who her music is meant to appeal to.

She KEEPS saying she is urban, urban, urban - But her songs are anything but - Very commercial, bland pop!!
Thought N Dubs were ok-ish, but not really my thing...

She probably needs to get back with them - Not sure she is solo material!

Who have actually heard the album to brand it bad? Even if it isnt your usual style (maybe your into power ballad chris maloney) they arent weak songs.

I don't think she really cares how the album does she has said a few times now that she dosen't really see herself as a solo star anyway and she feels more comfortable in N Dubz so I'm sure her management probably told her to record a solo album to capulise being on X Factor.

As an N Dubz fan I want her to go back to them, she hasnt got it on her own and seems nervous and out of her depth

its strange as at times she comes across arrogant and up her own backside on X factor this year

I agree that her album is nothing like her sound with N Dubz, as a fan I was hoping she would release similar material, her solo parts on N Dubz songs are fantastic imo but this new album is some strange mash ups of different styles of music, I like Young as that kind of music is my favourite but the second single put me off, it was terrible

Well, if that's true, that certainly appears to have backfired on her.
I empathize with her, all she has tried to do is be true to herself and all she seems to be getting in return is a lot of stick.
I think she doesn't deserve that. She seems to genuinely care for her acts and was visibly upset when Ella was voted off.
Ella's lukewarm reaction to her when Ella was on the phone on Extra Factor must have been a bit of a let-down for Tulisa as well.
I think Tulisa is given a bit of a hard time - and now people gloat over the fact that her album is not doing very well.

To be fair, I think she does deserve a place on the panel. She's not there as a singer, but more as a representative of the "backstage" side of music: I always got the impression that she was the brains behind N-Dubz, and was very savvy in that regards.

I think that the problem is that she clearly doesn't care about the album. As people have already said, she was probably told to make a record, rather than WANTING to - she looked bored and uninterested when she finished her performance on Sunday, and it's telling that Louis was promoting her album more than she was (which - again - made her seem a bit uncomfortable). And her apathy was obviously contagious: it's not my sort of music anyway, but if an artist I was a fan of seemed like they weren't fussed out the lastest CD, I wouldn't rush to the shops for it on day one either.

Like I say, I get the impression that she is VERY savvy about the management/production/promotion side of things, it's just that she hasn't bothered at all with this album. A bit unproffessional tbh - if she wants a long-standing career doing the things she's good at, she's going to have to learn that sometimes you have to work with a product you don't necessarily love.

To me, I don't get much of a sense of what she's supposed to be as a music artist. She's no Rihanna, so the hedonistic, wild image doesn't work for her. Her solo music hasn't been urban enough to retain her N Dubz followers. And she hasn't got a big enough voice or visible enough song writing abilities to go down the well respected, Emeli Sande/Adele route. She's an okay singer with okay songs in a market currently saturated with female artists, and people often mistake her insecurity for arrogance or petulance which makes it hard for her to connect with a wider audience.

I'm in the minority in that I like Tulisa as a judge on XF, but I feel literally no compulsion to buy her music. I just have no interest in it. It's too samey, too watered down, and does absolutely nothing new or innovative. I don't think it's a coincidence that her best moment in either XF series came when she duetted with Little Mix. She seems a lot, lot happier in a group, and I expect she'll be looking to get back with N Dubz sooner rather than later, where she doesn't have to do so much front of house stuff.

It might not even hold onto the top 40 - that would be brilliant.

That is a very good point.
It is because, having gotten to sit on the X Factor panel each Saturday and Sunday for three months prior to her record's release, she squandered a glorious opportunity to market her wares by regularly talking tripe, by weakly pedalling scripts fed to her by others and in so doing, bullying a vulnerable contestant week after week after week. She then topped it off by standing there in front of millions last weekend and demonstrating a weakness of vocal and performance skills and material quality failure. (EDIT: sorry, this is in reply to the same post you'd replied to)

Tulisa's albums flopped, due to her poor vocal skills. As did many men, due to her poor oral skills.
