Leona and Syco ...

If Leona was to leave SYCO do you think another label would pick her up ??

Some good things: If she left the new label would take over her career. Leona sucks at making single choices

What does everyone else think ?

I think it would be a good decision. She would easily get picked up by another label tbh. She still has international fans, and an incredible voice. But I agree that they would have to have most of the control over her career. She has made some bizarre choices like choosing Trouble over We Found Love. I just hope she doesn't get screwed over by Syco.

Of course another she'd get plenty of label offers! And yes, her choices of singles recently have been awful - still great songs though.

I wish she'd go back to the power ballad style, instead of trying to be modern. Modern doesny suit her.
I know that wasn't your question, sorry.

I loved her before but her newer stuff does nothing for me.

You have quite obviously not heard Glassheart.

She needs to work with urban producers like Timbaland etc...., she has an excellent R+B voice

No, I gave up listening when she did a couple of pop songs. Is she back to what she does best now? As her best is incredible!

It's pissing me off that the album has quite big sounds on it, and yet they're releasing average songs like Lovebird & Trouble.

Glassheart, Sugar, Come Alive are all dying to be released and SyCo settle for average.

I do wish the album had more emotional big ballads in there because I do feel like it's missing that part of Leona. But it does have other songs that combat that.

Something needs to be done before Leona is run into the ground. So much talent being wasted - Disgraceful

An independent label for sure. Major labels? Well it's Universal or Warner and I'm not convinced that she'd be that appealing at the moment. And if Sony thought another label would pick her up then they'd probably not drop her anyway.

I'm inclined to think that Syco will keep her around for one more, maybe at another Sony label. All the numbers say otherwise and that they should drop her but for some reason I'm just not convinced they will. I think any future album might be a bit more controlled and it'll be back to R&B ballads, maybe a few covers and all on a far tighter budget.

I still think as a fan, Leona needs to return to her Spirit sound. And I know a lot of people on here aren't keen on that idea, but I reckon the wider audience would prefer Leona to be back in that element. I remember when Collide dropped, people weren't keen on that sound and missed her emotional ballads. Regarding covers, I don't think Leona can do that. She's covered far too many songs for someone only 3 albums in. I think anymore covers could be detrimental to her and she'll be seen as an artist who just covers songs

I am quite confident that she is in no danger of being dropped.

Great singing voice doesn't always equal chart success or great songs. Leona is nice but she seemed like she took a 3-4 year hiatus, it's hard to just come back huge after that.

I don;t think she'll be dropped, but she should run off herself tbh, Syco is just using her as a milking cow right now

How?

She won't have made them any money since 2009. And Glassheart will definitely be a substantial loss.

You do realise that isnt how contracts work I assume?

Although if her recent sales are anything to go by - she'll be dropped before long anyway.

I want her to leave, but I know contracts might not make that possible.

Simon has always had a special bond with Leona, so I don't think she will go the same as the others - just yet. It's easy to say, based on history, she will be dropped because of poor sales. But I think special care and effort will be placed to ensure some success.

The thing that annoys me most is when Collide was released most of her fans were screaming "World smash hit" yet when it peaked it didn't achieve its expectations and fans started saying it was a buzz single. I thought she did very well. When Trouble premiered her fans did the exact same thing but after it failed to reach number 1 fans said "It wasn't that good of a song anyway" "Should have released Glassheart instead". I hate this. If Glassheart is the next single and it peaks exactly like Collide and Trouble I wonder what excuse they'll use...

I love Collide and Trouble and thought they did extremely well but it's like people here expect her to go straight to number one with everything she releases because she's the poster girl for x factor - which she is but give the girl some slack she's hardly flopping as many have claimed.
