I think it's the first final we've had in a long time where nobody is really sure who's going to win. For that reason it's exciting.

For me it's quite exciting because for the first time in XF history there is the possibility of an unpopular contestant (esp. with most of the judges) winning the show, and consequently what the reaction will be.

I was thinking more of a contestant not being popular with some of the judges. This was not the case with Leon and Steve. If I remember correctly, I think they were popular all round.
This is the first XF I know of where some judges have indicated that they did not want a certain contestant to win.

Not really, and its my works Christmas party this weekend (funnily enough I'll be right next to the arena it is taking place in). It fell on the final a couple of years ago too and I made the effort to Sky+ it and watch it before the results show, I don't think I'll bother this time.

I'm reasonably excited, in that I'm looking forward to seeing James do three songs, and hopefully win. Jahmene too may have a 'moment' out of three, he certainly has the pipes, but he's less reliable at delivering than James and would need to bring everything into focus, but maybe the adrenalin of the occasion will do just that. Either of those two guys is well-liked by most of the other contestants and crew so they will share in their joy of winning, rushing on stage to congratulate.

I'm not looking forward to seeing 3 songs from Christophernando, when one has been an endurance, let alone the prospect of witnessing him win. I can picture the shakes galore, a sobbing near breakdown, and that infernal Nan on stage stealing the limelight like the woman at the end of Morecambe & Wise.

Last year's Final was a bit of a borefest for me. I never rated Amelia, and wasn't caught up in the girlpower of Little Mix. I'd really liked Marcus at the start, he was very cool earlier on, starting off well with a Maroon 5 song. Good looking, trendy, a boppy dancer, caught the groove, good voice - but he'd turned into a Butlins version of Bruno Mars by the end, which I predicted then was entirely the wrong direction to go, in terms of marketability.

I know we shouldn't take delight in another person's despair, but in Simon's case I think we can make an exception if Baloney wins

No more than they deserve this year for treating the public like simpletons as usual
