Wearing choir robes, she and Jahmene joined in with songs before performing a concert later in the evening to 10,000 fans after switching on the town’s Christmas lights.

Where they all carrying candles and weeping as Jahmene unleashed another sob story involving his third cousin, twice-removed, a drug debt, gaffer tape, boiling water and a rolled up carpet? I wonder what he's gonna hit us with this weekend and whether he'll pause to sing a song or two at some point?

It's actually Nicole that mentions the number of 28000 in this clip.
Maybe that's how many tickets were sold.

What and 18000 don't show? Maybe the fact that Keith Chegwin couldn't make it put people off

PS I'm pretty sure a Christmas lights turn on wouldn't have needed a ticket to stand in the high street of Swindon.

Surely it depends on the venue, Chris performed at the Liverpool Empire which has a capacity of 2,350.

Jahmene performed outside, and as part of a much bigger event which has an infinite capacity (in theory)

I say good luck to all of them, but really i think people need to be a little bit more realistic where Christopher is concerned.

He is going to have a lot stronger older audience vote, people that may NOT be in a position or healthy enough to attend live shows etc. That does not mean that they still won't vote lol.

I think you need to be realistic , Older doesn't necessarily mean deaf , I wouldn't vote for Christopher under any circumstances . I was alive and kicking for the era of songs that Chris sings and none of them ever sounded like he makes them sound . There were awful pub singers in the 80's and Chris fits squarely into that category . Having said that generally he's more consistent that Jahmene who is another who wouldn't get my vote as he's far too old fashioned though with far more potential than Chris . I'm of the opinion that Chris's popularity is more about people wanting to screw over Cowell .

I suspect you are right. I can't think why anybody else would vote for somebody who is completely unmarketable beyond this Xmas (and that's being kind). It has to be an ulterior motive or people regard this is as Big Brother not a talent competition.

Whatever the credibility of X Factor has disappeared down the plug hole

Not impressed. 28000 would turnout to see the bacon slicer in operation in the local butchers in Swindon.
