He can't sing. His own material is tripe. He plays basic chords on a guitar. He wears make up because he's uncomfortable in his own skin. He's being laughably promoted (by the X Factor's staff puppets and their briefed studio guests and hire-a-quote industry types - Holly Johnson kind of blew the lid on that one last week) as an edgy and original artist. He applies to go on X Factor, passing off other people's arrangements of well known songs as his own (ok, it's the judges and guests who do that for him), then does the sullen posturing and gives the 'I shouldn't be here' attitude. You work it out.

I think they both came across equally bad tbh, for different reasons. Chris came across as arrogant when he kept jumping in and generally being annoying. While James came across as unlikeable and moody. I'm not particularly drawn to either of them after this.

Wasn't he in and out of care? When I was younger I definitely relied on my parents to take me to the dentist... I doubt he had that guidance.

Did not see it, its very rare that i watch morning tv, not really interested either in all the speculation and playing the try to guess his body language game, there is enough bad press surrounds this whole show and to many people who want to condemn every contestant based no hard facts

Im not a james arthur fan either, but you know what, i used to be proud to be british because we were nowhere near as shallow a nation as the USA. I do not see what his dang teeth have to do with anything, im sure they will get sorted in time , nobody is perfect including yourselves

Exactly! I wonder if the people on here telling James he should have gotten his teeth fixed only like acts with Simon Cowell-esque grins,

It may just have been the way it came across, but it smacked of disrespect for the show and biting the hand that feeds him. In contrast, Chris was bubbly and personable (and I'm by no means a Chris fan!), full of enthusiasm for the show. Maybe that's why people like him?”

I watched too and I agree with everything you say. Chris came across as nice and decent and a happy demeanour. James on the other hand was miserable and disrespectful.

He just seemed to have a massive ego to me. James on the other hand when he could get a word in was eloquent and dignified. I dont think he seemed ungrateful at all.

Just to clarify - Id like Jahmane to win because I think hes the best singer - although all three styles are very different.”

Chris had the ego. I think you are looking at the wrong guy. James is the one coming across as the arrogant one.

You got a bunch of people who do nothing but say the x-factor is crap and finished offended by James saying he's not a typical x-factor contestant, like it's a show they love and adore.

newsflash he's not. too many people judge a book by it's cover. everyone gets on with james, chris jumps around smiling then behind the scenes hes flipping out if he doesn't get his tea delivered to him, where as James cannot quite fathom he's gone from his bedsit to being rated by all these established artists. some people don't act fake they are what they are.

the guy was evidently smiling and happy to make the final, but if he's worried about his teeth then it explains why he tries his best not to get over exited often.
