Which of the mentors over the 9 seasons have been the most supportive of their acts post show.

I suppose Simon has to be seen as pretty good as he ensured Olly, 1D and Leona all did well - but then there was a vested financial interest there for him too.

Dannii Minogue has certainly not forgotten her acts and today put this on her blog.

I don't follow any of the other acts, so was wondering if their mentors have given similar.

Louis has been pretty supportive with Jedward and JLS, I think? (I don't follow them, but I think I've heard interviews where they've mentioned him.) I expect he will be with Union J, too.

I have wondered if he would end up managing Union J - they are exactly the genre he specialises in.

Well apparently they've just dropped their manager (smart move!) so it wouldn't surprise me at all.

It didn't take long then, I wonder if he had to be paid off.

They don't mentor them after the show. They might stay friends but it's not the same as mentoring.

You beat me to it!

Oor Cheryl is notorious for dropping communications with her acts after the show is over. Not that she's obliged to, mind, but when you work with someone in the public eye, it's generally regarded as good manners not to freeze people out when the curtain drops.

Friendship is how I meant it tbh - I didn't mean in terms of guiding their careers. Keeping in touch and showing an interest in the people they spent as much as ten weeks with and at least pretended to be friends with.

I fully agree about obligation - it is just a job to some of them and they are not contractually signing up to anything more than the 10 week live show relationship. But it is nice to see someone taking their commitment beyond the legally obligated part.

Tulisa with Little Mix
Louis with Jedward
Gary with Marcus (he wrote some tracks)
Maybe Kelly with Amelia and Misha? I think they made some music together

I think in terms of supporting her acts post-show Dannii is the best. I remember seeing in one of her ITV2 documentaries that she was still in touch with Rachel Adedeji and Lucie Jones.

As for Cheryl, she's under no obligation to keep in touch with her acts but it's a bit two-faced to tell someone like Joe McElderry that he's become like a little brother to her and send him the occasional text if he's lucky.

That.
He certainly didn't get much support.

I also remember Louie promising to get Eton Road a recording contract and then not keeping his word.

Conspicuous by his absence is Nicolo Festa--probably the worst mentored contestant in the history of X Factor considering his potential.

First voted out of the series based entirely on a horrendous song choice and even worse styling. It's mentoring whilst on the show that matters and Dannii's track record is mediocre at best. Cheryl is unpopular on DS but two of her acts from that series finished top 4 and both have done better than the winner mentored by Dannii.

Kelly supports Misha and Amelia on her twitter page.
She even recorded with a song with Amelia, which might be on Amelias album

Danni is very supportive and still on a friendly basis with her acts that she mentored I'm sure but I think Louis and Simon have the best track record.
