I returned them to comet who said we are in liquidation and cant replace any goods i was told to ring panasonic who would replace the faulty glasses.panasonic said they would not replace the glasses as my contract was with comet HOW ABOUT THAT FOR A HELPFULL PANASONIC It seems i will now have to go out and buy another pair of glasses

Did you tell Panasonic that Comet have gone into liquidation?

Yes I told the girl that comet had gone into liquidation she did not want to know she kept saying my contract was with comet and I should go thru them

Some large stores 'buy out' the guarantee, so there's no manufacturers guarantee on the item at all - but even in that case, if the store goes bust, the manufacturer will normally take the warranty back over.

Contact Panasonic again, possibly in writing? - bear in mind you're probably talking to a third party advice line, not Panasonic at all - and probably not even in the UK (Sony's customer line is now in Egypt).

How did you pay for the item? If it was by credit card or in store credit then the credit provider is also liable under the Consumer Credit act. Obviously if you paid cash that doesn't apply........

I recently got a Bluray Recorder from Comet so am expecting Panasonic will pick up any future warranty claim.
The Panny site provides this warranty PDF info for this type of unit.
Note that return to the dealer from who you purchased from
OR an authorised service dealer is the condition.

In case of this link failing , go first to
