Breakfast Bill Moves North
According to a piece I was reading in the Mirror last night, BBC Breakfast host Bill Turnbull is moving house to the Peak District from leafy Buckinghamshire. When Breakfast moved to Salford in April Bill originally said he wouldn't be moving but has apparently become fed up with life alone in a flat. But his beloved bees will not be moving until the spring because it's currently too cold for them in the north ! I wonder if this means he will revert to Monday-Thursday now he's not commuting.

He is renting a house, paid for by the BBC ( us! ) and keeping his house down South, apparently !
Not expecting a permanent re-location then ? |

Thanks, somewhat ambiguous story in the Mirror (not for the first time),.At least his ties with Wycombe Wanderers will not be severed, good news about the bees.

He moved up in March. The Mirror points out the he has moved not that he is 'moving'. The OP is wrong once again. He never commuted.
What stigid has posted about renting was in yesterday's The Mirror. It is you that took the story up wrong! |

Don't see why the BBC should pay for him to rent somewhere.

If a company relocates you to another part of the country, there is a legal obligation to pay the relocation costs and a fee. All made up by you as I pointed out before he and his wife moved into a (rented) house in Chesire last March. |

i think Bill and his bees will be sorely missed in Bucks, good luck to him and the family and hope he still supports Wycombe Wanderers

A Freedom of Information request found that 850 staff have been given a total of £11 million to cover the costs of moving, as well as one-off payouts worth 10 per cent of their salary, to encourage them to move north from London.
BBC Breakfast presenters Susanna Reid and Bill Turnbull are among those taking the incentives, apparently. |

Hopefully this means more of Bill and less of the awful Charlie on Breakfast.

In the end despite "protestations" employees have to go where their employer wants them to be...or leave.
It's the same in any job. |
