[Game] The Mix Factor 3: Live Show #5
Ladies and gentlemen of the Digital Spy forums, welcome back to The Mix Factor!
As you may remember, twelve acts fought for your vote last Monday. For that show only, the mentors had some help from four genre gurus when picking their songs, and after a spectacular night of great performances Soppyfan was in a very uncomfortable position as two of his wildcards were in the bottom 2. They both sang their hearts out in the sing-off, but in the end all of the judges believed that Jesper had more potential than Morten Benjamin did, resulting in the latter's elimination. Tonight, the remaining eleven acts will be singing once again in a bid to convince the judges and the DS public that they have what it takes to be in the top ten. Ten is the magic number this series, as having ten acts means we're halfway through the competition! That means the pressure is on again, as none of the judges want to lose one of their acts tonight! Speaking about our marvelous judges, please welcome the four judges of The Mix Factor and of course their acts! Judges, have another remix as your intro tune tonight: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_k86-KIR_SI bboy1988 and the girls Angel Tupai Danielle Penning Jade Ellis unclekevo and the groups Audio Vixen Mrs. Greenbird jackel1234 and the over 25s Chiara Galiazzo Daniel Vengsgaard Samantha Jade Vino Alan Soppyfan and the wildcards Jesper Sumera Espinel Tonight's theme is 'It's In Their Name', which means the acts will be singing a song of which the title starts with either the first letter of their first name or the first letter of the surname. Now, it's time to face the music again! Judges, please confirm your presence. |

I know Stephen isn't going to be here (I don't have his comments either...), but I hope that Kev turns up soon.
Anyway, let's kick off the show with one of his groups while we wait for him to appear. Singing 'Animal' by the Neon Trees, it's the incredible Audio Vixen! Christina and Ria: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uJxrQfvMUOA Ross: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uJxrQfvMUOA (Refer to this version for the harmonies) Note: The three will split the song, each taking a verse and harmonizing on the choruses, this highlights their great pop-rock harmonies |

![]() Kev will have to clear this one up once he gets here as I don't have the other link. In the meantime, just comment on the song choice and Audio Vixen's performance. The links will hopefully be fixed by the time I create the summary post. |

Guys, you have been a bit of a hit and miss act since the very beginning so tonight was your chance to start pulling out big performances. For me, I think this was a real corner turn for you, because that was a good song choice from your mentor and the way you split the parts was very good too. For me, it's a great start to the show, well done.

Hmmmm guys I think this was an performance okay and it was actually quite a surprising choice because I actually didn’t see this one coming. I feel like last week’s performance was your best so I wasn’t expecting a bigger performance than that. Overall a decent performance from you guys tonight and you should be safe. |

A pretty good start to the show with good comments for Audio Vixen. The public will even get an extra treat when Kev gets around to fixing the one of the links.
Next up, we have one of the girls who's going to sing a song by X Factor USA winner Melanie Amaro, who was in a similar position 2 series ago in the first series of The Mix Factor. Anyway, we're moving off topic, please give it up for Danielle Penning singing 'Don't Fail Me Now' by Melanie Amaro http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PqMp6VxnxzI |

Danielle Penning
Danielle this felt like a letdown for me. It just felt like the performance was not up to standard with you. I mean I look at all your other performances and I think that you’re slowly getting there, you’re slowly becoming a star but this just made you take a big step back from what you’re capable of. |

I have to disagree here, it was catchy, it was fun and Danielle, I hate to steal another mentor's catchphrase or words but I've gotta say that you put it down, girl! I loved the singing from your incredible voice and the dancing was a great touch as well. I can start to see that you are fast becoming an all-round performer, a key ingredient to being a top contender. Your mentor is doing wonders with you, Danielle, just keep it going.

Mixed comments for Danielle there, but who will the public agree with tonight?
Jack has still got all four of his over 25s in the competition by show 5, which is incredible in itself. Not only that, he's also managed to take the next contestant all the way here after he performed in the sing-off back in show one! Singing a song by Eddie Vedder, it's Vino Alan who hopes to go 'All The Way' with this performance! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xzUbw...ure=plpp_video |

Vino Alan
Last week one of the judges said they wanted to see me take a risk with you and choose a new style of song for you and I think I definitely did this tonight. From the start you’ve been this soul rocker and now we’ve attempted to give you a song with a more folk styled sound and I have to say you nailed the song and did fantastic with it! Not many people could just switch styles completely and do so well with it but you can! I'm not gonna deny that the song was slightly boring but it was all for a great change for you! Bravo Vino! |

Vino Alan
Vino, last week was a bit of a let-down because it didn't have that feeling I get from you. Tonight however, you are back in your stride and this is what I enjoy from you the most. It was pure Country, it was full of confidence and I can't believe that the audience knew the words to that song as well, that is major potential for being a big contender. I absolutely loved that performance, Vino. A risk that paid off for sure, well done tonight.

Good comments for Vino tonight, but are those comments alone good enough to propel him into the sixth live show? No, he still needs the public to support him tonight!
Next up, it's the first of the wildcards! She's the only one in her category to not have been in the bottom to, and she intends to keep it that way. Please welcome Sumera Espinel back to the stage, where's she'll be tackling a Lana Del Rey song called Summertime Sadness' today. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xgt2rYiHsSU |

Sumera Espinel
Sumera I am not 100% on this song for you. I mean you’ve got a more bluesy voice than this and it felt way too indie for you. Quite a few parts in the verses felt right for you but for me when the chorus came in it just went a bit off for you. I do think you have more to give than this and I am sort of hoping you go through but I am slightly worried for you after this performance. I hope I am wrong though because I do want to see you go further than this. |

Sumera Espinel
Sumera, this week, I wanted to take a risk because the judges needed to see a big moment from you. Well tonight, we all got the chance to see it. This was a haunting but an incredible piece of work from you tonight, we have a mission and that is for you to be major star. I really want your fans to continue voting for you, because you are a major contender in my eyes, outstanding job, Sumera girl!

Mixed comments for Sumera yet again, but she's got through the past 4 weeks without ever getting unanimous praise from the judges. It's the public that ultimately decides the fate of the contestants.
Performance number five will be brought to you by one of the over 25s again! He took quite some heat from the judging panel last week, but ultimately got the public to vote him straight into this show. Now, singing 'Declaration' by David Cook, it's Daniel Vengsgaard! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QONB0dJEHfk |

Daniel Vensgaard
This song and you Daniel are a fantastic match up! It has some great soft parts at the start that let your vocals shine through and then when the chorus came in it let you show off your brilliant rock edge and power vocals as well. In this competition you do go from strength to strength and constantly show off your rocker style. Fantastic performance again Daniel. |

Daniel, I think you were very lucky to avoid the sing-off as your previous performance was one of your weakest. Tonight however...you are SO back in the race. That was a whole lot better than before and you sung and performed like a true rock-star! Don't stop rocking, Daniel, you were rocking out well tonight.

Great comments for Daniel Vengsgaard this week. Will our resident rocker make it to the sixth live show?
She's just had her song changed at the very last minute by her mentor Stephen, so that's one added difficulty for her already. However, I get the feeling that this contestants likes a bit of challenge. Please give it up for the amazing Angel Tupai, who will give rock yet another 'Try' with a Pink song! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fdHCec23BKE |

Angel, last week was a disappointment and I was hoping that this week you would be able to turn it around. If I'm honest, it wasn't one of your strongest performances, but it was miles better than last week. Good on you and your mentor for giving rock another go and this is one song that you did good in. But come back with something stronger next week though.

Angel I think your mentor really needs to stop giving you these rock songs at the moment. You have an amazing voice but with these rock songs its sort of going to waste with you a lot. You have a great belter soul voice and in this song you do sort of do that but it is still missing a soul element. |
