Yup.

Now i've got the ridiculously good screen size and quality, that is the Motorola A1000, and £10 a month for all the video coverage (except Top Shelf ), i'm loving it.

No coverage or call problems for me either.

Been a constant user with them for 14 months now, they've improved greatly to the point where I'd recommend them to anyone.

Been with 3 for 6 months, had the ocassional call cut out but not so much recently, got the LG8110, great phone, can't get 3g signal where I live but O2 works fine get 3G at work though, no complaints when you consider how cheap they are compared to other networks, I do miss proper WAP sometimes, apart from that great!!

Video Value is a steal @ £5 for Talk & Text customers - considering what you get.

I bought an A835 on 3pay in April for about £65, and had to hang out of a window to get a signal on O2 (there was no 3G signal at all). The coverage predictor said I'd be able to make full video calls so that was disappointing, esp as I live less than 3 miles from an International airport.

The handset would also dial wrong numbers, so I took it back and got it swapped, only to find that the replacement was just as bad. So, I got the replacement unlocked and am now using it to evaluate Virgin Mobile - for which it works pretty well now. I'm still trying to suss out how to turn the upper/lower case logic off on messaging.

THe other gripe I had was with the 30 day expiry on the vouchers, everyone else scrapped their time limits years ago.

I threw the '3' USIM out early last month, as basically I'd had enough.

Have been using Orange as a main mobile since Feb '99, and currently see no reason to change. Currently on OVP Virgin paying around £6-£7 per month on average.

I am extremely happy with my A1000 on Three and have been with them for nearly a year and a half now.

They sucked at first, but a few months later all became well and is now excellent!

Three are shite. Go with a proper network who take notice and act on breaches of their own standards....

It's this simple, if you want to pay less on your phone bill with more minutes then come with us happy Three users, if not then don't.

The history of Three has been rocky, but the present and future is definately different.

Look how many happy Three users there are now sprouting up everywhere. The Three bashers are dying out as the fashion fades away....

People buy skodas because they are cheap!

As a business user I need reliability. Three are not a reliable network, their customer service is almost zero.

Oramge is a better deal.

Three Video Talk 1000
----------------------------------
What you get for £60 a month
Voice call minutes 1000 minutes
Video call minutes 50 minutes
Text messages 150 messages
Photo messages 50 messages
Video messages 50 messages
Email 25 emails
Content £20 each month (within portal)

The following calls and messages are excluded from your monthly allowances: international calls and messages, calls and messages made and received whilst abroad, premium rate calls and messages, directory enquiries and calls to non-geographic numbers (e.g. 0870, 0845) and special calls. The call allowance does include calls to other mobiles. Monthly allowances for photo and video messages apply to messages within the 3 UK network.
--------------------------------------

Orange Your Plan 700 (+ 700 free evening = total 1400 minutes per month)

What you get for £70 a month
Voice call minutes 700 minutes (+ 700 extra evening mins)
Video call minutes 60 minutes
Text messages 1000 messages
Email 50MB
Content 50MB

---------------------------------------------------

400 extra minutes, 1000 free messages, 10 extra video minutes, plus decent customer service and phone insurance, decent phones and because three use O2's 2/2.5g network voice quality and coverage is nowhere near as good as with orange. Orange 3g already covers 70% of the UK, only 10% behind Three and catching up fast!

Oh and dont talk about "how many Three users there are sprouting up everywhere" or I might actually quote some suprising figures for you, its really not as popular as you might think!!!

So the Skoda Octavia is cheap and unreliable, as are Volkswagen who own Skoda?

Bit behind the times, aren't we?

I'm not sure why a business user would go on the three network in the first place, due to the walled garden internet, but each to their own. I have never had a problem with 3 in terms of call quality/dropping or otherwise, and to be honest, the only people I know who had these problesm were using the dire NEC handsets, or a completely unsuitable Nokia handset. Motorola, and especially the latest Moto A1000, which I own, runs perfectly on 3 and I have excellent call quality. The customer service is only poor if you ring their basic helpline. Go straight to the source, and bypass the call centre (of which there are worse ones in England. O2 anyone? Jees!)

And putting up two different deals and saying one is beter than the other, doesn't really hold water, unless you state that it is better than the other for you, and in that case, why are you in a thread about 3 if you don't use it and don't rate it?

And before you come back at me, I have two contracts, one for my own use and one for business. I use Orange for business.

We use it for business and its great. The calls work out extremely cheap and the walled garden is annoying, but it doesn't stop us using their service for our mobile phone needs.

Yep, that's spot on. The NEC handsets do let you down and as I have stated before the modern Motorlas and LG phones are excellent and seem to make a massive difference on this network.

I normally get the Scottish lot and they are good.

Three Bashers just do it because it's the trend, just like it was a trend to slag off Skodas, but I have seen some very nice skodas recently. There was a sporty one my mate had that was extremely nice.

I'm not suggesting the skoda is unreliable, just that quality of product and service is low.

I'm in this thread to make comment. Before lots of people start subscribing to Three because they have read this, they should understand that its hassle. Its the poor mans network. If you want reliability and QOS, then go Orange.

Wow, so you have two contracts! Apart from my other business, I co-founded the UK's largest mobile content and platform service provider.......I used to own two shops that are Official Nokia Service Centres until we sold them last year, I've got quite a bit of knowledge about networks and even from a retailer point of view, Three was/is a pain in the ass to deal with.

Swoon, You're Great! [/sarcasm]

Regardless of what you did or didn't co-found, there are many, MANY people now on three and VERY happy with the network.

And shame you had to go all the way up to a £70 tariff on Orange to try and reach a basis for comparison with three's excellent price plans. How many mobile users are going to want to pay £70 line rental a month, every month?

BTW, same network/off-peak mintues are now a prehistoric concept (To me, anyway) so the 700 'bonus' that Orange provide on that deal are neither here nor there.

I also use Three for business and personal use, as do many of my collegues and it's definately 100% reliable. More so than Vodafone in our area. The price is also better than any corporate deal we have been offered in the past too.

700 extra evening minutes? I'd rather have more anytime minutes to be honest as I tend to use my mobile more when out and about during the day, but I guess this is down to personal preference.

You also stated that Three don't allow you to call premium numbers etc. in your inclusive minutes, neither do Orange but you neglected to mention that.

But I tend to spend more and more time on the 3G coverage, so it's spot on and as Three have better 3G coverage than Orange it works out quite well.

Three currently have 80% 3G coverage and are still expanding, Orange may catch up to 80%, but by their own admission it won't be straight away
"We're aiming to hit 80 percent population coverage by the end of 2006," said Orange spokesman Stuart Jackson.
so I think that altough they will reach where Three are now, they may not catch up as quickly as you think.

Just take a look on the DS forums for a start, compare how many posts are stating that Three is good now compared to a few months back.

They are definately improving and well worth a try.
