How great is this song?! It is one of the best songs Kylie has ever recorded. I had to laugh on wiki when it said that her label pulled the release of this song in the UK as they feared it would stereotype Kylie too much for releasing camp music....so they went ahead and released Please Stay instead!
Please Stay is a million times "camper" than Your Disco Needs You, lol

It's a great song!

Ken Bruce plays it now and again

Wrtten by Robbie Williams and Guy Chambers, IIRC

Whilst I agree Please Stay is also camp, Your Disco is Clearly a million times camper than anything ever created by human kind. I think it's a fun, enjoyable song but a bit of an embarrassment for Kylie.

It was she wrote with them on a few others on the album too Disco Down, Loveboat, And kookachoo i think

This was a single from the get go had it written all over it a modern day I Will Survive but alas it was relegated to limited release in a few countries and remembered amongst fans really but great song.

Why an embarrassment? She performs it on all her tours so I doubt she finds it embarrassing at all.

Brilliant song that should definitely have been a single over here. Most of the tracks on Light Years could have been a single though, it's a brilliant pop album!

Apparently Robbie Williams sings backing vocals on YDNY, but i've never been able to hear him.

The only song from that list that was written with Chambers and Williams was "Loveboat". The other two were done with Johnny Douglas

I love this. If I am feeling down it hits the mark and brings a big smile to my face.

It obviously works gloriously as camp but Disco Down is the far greater track IMHO. Plus I was always used to hearing the gay bar/club mix of it which was considerably more dynamic and 'pumping' than the album version, which I was surprised to discover actually sounds quite 'flat'.

I like a bit of Kylie but your disco needs you is just unbelievably camp. One of the campest songs ever made but very annoying.
