http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage...rity-song.html do you think its a good way of giving to charity? and is it just cheap and tacky publicity for the xfactor? |

It's a good way to raise a lot of money but I can see how it could be perceived as getting publicity.

The proceeds from the very first X Factor winner's song was given to charity if I remember correctly.

Linking to a charity is the only way they will get it to move off the shelves this year.

I'd like to know why they didn't do a charity group single this year. It seems mean of them to me. I'm sure they could have made just as much money without taking it from the winner's pocket, if not more. It usually sounds better than the winner's single, tbh.

It's the only way to get it to #1 this year.

It's going up against that Hillsborough charity single which has been tipped for the Christmas number 1 so the only way for the X Factor to compete is to say it's for charity. |

I wanted to post at the time of this vid - but was so appalled, I didn't feel I could be at all rational.
Please tell me I am wrong. But did a mother on the vid actually talk about planning her daughter's funeral - while the same child was in the audience watching? The whole thing just makes me feel so grubby - anything that links XF with a charity seems so wrong....and so manipulative. If the XF producers are genuinely so worried about sick children (fill in the gaps) then why not just donate one nights voting revenue to the cause - instead of linking it to the sad pitiful attempt to get the single to number one. I would never, ever buy the single for this - and would rather donate direct - to avoid the ghastly and manipulative shambles. XF - you should be ashamed. |
