I seriously think people should take it more like "entertainment", cause most of the contestants will be forgotten about after the season ends. As for the contestants that do come out successful, either Syco thinks they're short term cash producers, or they've found record labels that treat them well (for now...!)

I don't feel sorry for them. If they're daft enough to buy into it all as much as they do, then tough.

Next year X Factor will be full of mad camp acts and cruise ship singers. Credibility has flown after this year and last. There must be a million 'Christopher's up and down the country who are gagging to apply that "werk reeelly 'ard" and love their "nans".

And they can only apply , if they are accompanied by an adult

They've all already applied and have made sure their nans accompany them to the auditions.

Or The Chosen One will have a story of how their passed over nans (both maternal and paternal) loved their voice and their dying wishes were for their grandchild to go on X Factor. They'll be bringing attractive photographs and inspirational stories of said nans. Tabloids will uncover the truth of said nans being alive and well by week three, so The Great British Public can be up in arms about the lying contestant using such a ploy.
