I think you have to bear in mind that for the purposes of TV candidates' characteristics end up being exaggerated somewhat so we have clearly identified characters. But Maria was a nightmare for many of the early weeks (as was Ashleigh) - but has been shown to have a more reasonable side in recent weeks.

I wouldn't want her working for me, but then she is still just a teenager. I'm willing to bet that most of us wouldn't have acted particularly professionally at that age. I know I wouldn't have, and I've gone on to have a successful career in business.

For me, Lucy is the best balanced of the finalists, although she is perhaps not forceful enough at times. Patrick's decision-making and business instincts seem very poor.

Ashleigh is a one-trick pony - she's very loud and her only strategy is to cut costs. Sorry, but anyone can do that. She has shown zero creativity and zero entrepreneurial qualities so far.

Maria's business ability may not be bad, but we've had little chance to see them. For all the flak she took over how crap a product Strexy was last week, she nailed it in terms of keeping the whole brand message consistent. It was a crap product, yes, but the campaign, packaging and slogan/name all hung together well. Chameleon's didn't, despite being a better looking product.

Anyhow, the long and the short of it is that I think Maria is now second favourite behind Lucy.
Broadly speaking, I agree. I want Lucy to win, but Maria would be a welcome enough winner too.

she better not win i cant stand her she deserves a big slap in the face reasons why i detest her

1) she bossy
2) she doesn't listen to others
3) its her way or the highway
4) she thinks shes better than everyone else
5) she thinks her ideas are the bees knees
6) shes deluded
7) shes a nasty piece of work
8) she will stab anyone in the back if threatened
9) its never her fault when they fail
10) always pushing blame on others in boardroom

This is all true. Let's hope she doesn't win - imagine the tantrum she will throw when she get's kicked out.

Maria has been on a bit of a journey, hasn't she? I'm not sure she's particularly likeable, but then again this isn't a popularity contest.

Swimming against the tide somewhat, but I now have Ashleigh ranked behind Patrick. I've covered my reasons for not rating Ashleigh many times before - anyone can minimise costs so it's hardly great business thinking (though it is sensible) and she doesn't listen to people at all - but having come this far you have to look at Patrick's potential fashion business and see it as something Sugar could invest in.

Okay, Sugar is not exactly a fashion guru and any investment in this area is going to be VERY high risk, but there is a distinct possibility that he might just sneak it.

My final ranking order:

1. Lucy
2. Maria
3. Patrick
4. Ashleigh

To be totally honest, I don't think ANY of them show a huge amount of promise. I must admit, if I were to be in Lord Sugar's shoes, Maria would drive me UP THE WALL. That girl needs bringing down a peg or 20 and I doubt I'd have the patience to go through it.

Character-wise, I'd go for Lucy.

Business-sense-wise, possibly Ashleigh. She'd have to knock down the obstinacy, though.

As for Patrick, I simply can not see him sitting down writing a decent business plan. Needle and thread for Notting Hill, maybe.

In all four cases, LS will have to invest a lot of time - not just the money. So it would boil down to who has the most viable project.

Lord Sugar tweeted that it's either a boy or girl that has won

At least that rules out Aliens... though i'm not sure about Patrick

I see it every programme, Maria doesnt understand something or doesnt know what it is, immediately the sneer comes on her face.

Her way is to rubbish something she doesnt understand, a horrible trait.

Is the trailer trying to tell us something? If so, what? Maria and Patrick argue. Does this mean they loose - or is it a red herring? If they win, is the issue they argue about central to the win? Or the fact they argued central to who wins? Does whoever had the right side of that argument have to win the prize??

And unsurprisingly enough, she threw no tantrum whatsoever when she lost - though on the task was another matter!

Maria behaved perfectly in the boardroom. Even when Sralan dangled the carrot of her disagreeing over the choir issue which was a ridiculous choice ! A young happy-clappy gospel choir singing "riding along on a pushbike" might just have pulled it off,but never those ladies with that song. Dumb dumb dumb decision. But Maria ,having taken on board advice not to over react, simply agreed with the Boss & left it at that.
In the end she came third because Patrick forcing that choir issue lost them the task,so in a normal boardroom he would have been toast. Well done to the winner and well done Maria for showing that you really can use the Boss's advice to good effect.

Maria lost the second she was lumbered with Kimono Wetsuit Moron. Not only was he generally crap and incompetent, but he went as far as being deliberately disruptive and unhelpful too. Poor girl.

Totally agree. Maria should have been paired with Ashley. I guess in a way, that was Alan saying Maria goodbye when she paired him with Mr free ride to the final!

I was surprised at how calm she was when she was given the boot. Makes me think she knew she was not going to win anyway.

Once I saw her team mates (David-do-nothing & co) it did not bode well. As for Patrick throwing at her that she wasn't the project manager ? Well, actually she was.....jointly with him,and was entitled to a share in important decision making. Had they won that task I have no doubt she would have been chosen as winner over wet Patrick, but there you go,done & dusted & Ashleigh was a worthy enough winner .

I am more than certain Miss Maria will go on to be successful in whatever she does. She has gone from a shouty young lady to a almost not shouty young lady that is calm and collected. She is very pretty too. Good luck to her.

She is certainly not pretty and she remains a very egocentric
b1tch. Hopefully losing this will crush her arrogance for a while.

That's a bit harsh... I didn't like her on the show, but we don't know her personally.

The viewer can't know because the show edit is there to give a story and never that reliable, and in most cases even that shows more ambiguities. In this case there's a bit more information available to the viewer, and its clear from the off task footage, and the evidence since, that she's one of the more popular members of the group. When the TV story image is contradicted by other information, its probably not the whole truth.

I think it was obvious Maria could be difficult and domineering, but it was also clear that she was well liked. So I agree; her being bossy was part of the truth, but not all the truth.

Look at the keyboard warrior attacking a young girl.

Do you know her personally? If you do, it's more fair for you to say that, and I apologise for saying that you shouldn't say that. I just thought (and still think) it was unlikely that you do know her... but if you do, fair play to you.
