Jahmene's single will be Let it Be by the Beatles.

James' single will be Impossible by Shontelle.

Christopher's single will be The Reason by Hoobastank.

According to the Sun's article towards the end - http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage...-of-final.html

......i don't like them :S

I'm not a big fan of Let It Be but Jahmene could change that for me!

The Reason by Hoobastank? WTF... That's way too mellow for Chris, you need delicate tone to be able to pull that song off.

Skyscraper was the best choice for a winner's song, but Union J had that one.

Awful song choices

Fantastic Song Choices - Would love to hear a gospel version of Let it Be! And Impossible is a fantastic song also! Great winner's singles

Impossible was a song that Leona turned down....slightly ironic....

That Africian choir will most probably perform let it be with Jahmene on Let it be

James has Chers winner single from 2010

Didn't Cher Lloyd record impossible too? Do SyCo own rights to that song?

Awful choices, Jahmene screaming let it be, Christopher ruining a fabulous song or James moaning through impossible.

Can't we just scrap and start the final 12 again.

And some people tried to convince me James would retain his credibility if he won...

I'm all for Jahmene winning.

I think Jahmene's is the best fitting. I can't imagine James twisting Impossible or Christopher singing The Reason without sounding like a random almost-drunk person on karaoke night.

Also, I've seen The Reason three times on The X-Factor this year (2 in the US, 1 to come in the UK). Wow is the song making a comeback?

Final 12? Without Maloney? Yes!

I actually agree, like they have been brought to perform, so obviously they will be part of a performance. I have to say I cannot wait to see them perform with Jahmene

I can't wait for the opening line, "I'm not a perfect person there's many things I wish I didn't do.."

It's too modern for the me-nans...but it won't matter at this point. He'll suddenly have the shakes and as he's apparently ill aswell....don't think he'll be in any trouble.

wonders if they picked the song with the lyrics in mind ,
very strange,

i know the songs are for the childrens charity , but the lyrics
seem personal

I've found a reason for me
To change who I used to be
A reason to start over new
and the reason is you

When they say the contestants picked the tracks, I guess they mean from a list rather than coming up with it themselves. It can't be a coincidence that "The Reason" was sung by a contestant at Judges' Houses on the US version this year.

I wonder who Christopher would dedicate that song to?

Jahmene, or any winner of The X Factor, covering a Beatles track won't go down well with the masses.

I want to cry yet laugh hysterically.

1) I love The Reason so I can't have Christopher verbally shitting all over it. Blastphemy
2) Impossible.. weird. Especially since it was a song Leona was meant to release, and then Cher Lloyd was gonna if she won. Maybe next years winner will lmao

I don't like any of the songs. Jahmene will probably clinch victory with a ''showstopping'' Gospel choir backed version of his song. Very poor.

Glad they went back to different songs for each potential winner like in series 7, it's much better than forcing them all to do something that doesn't even suit the winner. (When You Believe - Leon Jackson.. The Climb - Joe McElderry for example.. I think Joe would have got the Xmas #1 with a better song)

Shontelle's Impossible is a hit, love that song and it'll be even better with a James spin on it.
