Wow...just, wow

Jahmene obviously is intended to win based off this. A BEATLES song. That must have been really difficult to get clearance for.

The other two song choices don't seem very suited although Chris and James are both more versalite than Angel Jabriel and will probably do their best with them.

'contestants picked the songs' - sure. Fat chance of that...

I'm pretty sure there have already been gospel versions of Let It Be. X Factor, original as always!!!

Don't think clearance to cover is a problem. It is licence to use original Beatles recordings that is legendarily problematic. They used a 30 second section of 'Tomorrow Never Knows' on a recent episode of Mad Men. Permission took months of wrangling to secure and when they eventually got it, it still cost them 250k!

Wow, a gospel version of Let It Be! The X factor team have surpassed themselves in originality as always!
Very fitting for a charity single but musically as boring as watching paint dry.

And I have a gripe with the charity single following months of lies, manipulations and stitching up contestants. It is also a plan to be competitive with another Christmas charity single.
They are using charity for their own PR goals and it is vomit inducing. Yack, yack and yack again!!!

It's ridiculous how much this makes it seem geared up for Jahmene to win...

He'd have needed to first have it in order to retain it. At what point did he have it? Before or after he filled in his X Factor app form?

Makes sense to use a Beatles song as Sony records own a load of the Beatles records & The Puppet master Simon Cowell owns Syco which is also now part of Sony BMG.

As long as it's made into a 'Christmassy song' (Jahmene's song), I'll be happy.

I love this song too!! Would have preferred to hear Cher Lloyd's version though - not sure if this is the right song for James and as much as I like him, I really don't want him to potentially ruin such a good song (IMO)

Chris' song choice is awful. Totally unsuited to him.

Jahmene's song choice - not really fussed about, but IMO they are trying to set him up to win.

Shontelle Impossible

Aretha Franklin Let It Be

Hoobastank The Reason

Imagine Christ O'Pher's face when Gary told him he's covering Hooberstank. "Stank"? You c***!"

I love Hoobastank The Reason - another reason I really don't want Christopher to win - he will do an awful version of that song.

According to the Sun's article towards the end - http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage...-of-final.html

......i don't like them :S”

Two out of three songs on there will be totally ruined. Hoobastank? I love that song, and Let It Be is a classic that would be murdered by Jahmene's constant warbling voice.

I'll let James's slip cos I never liked that song anyway. The rest of them, completely ruined.

Chris will win. He could sing a list of names out of the phone book and still pull in tons of votes. The fact he's never been in the bottom 2 all series should be an indication of that. Many people are voting because they like him, and many people are voting to spite the judges and the show. At this point it doesn't really matter whether or not you think he's any good at all - the dye has already been cast.

X-Factor folk, if they really want James Arthur to do well post this show, would do well to play down the actual significance of winning, which they will surely do if Maloney wins.

Of course, they won't do that before the winner is announced, because they want people to shill out money and vote. They shouldn't be quite so combatitive though. Perhaps if they didn't keep taking shots at Christopher all the time and played it far more diplomatically, he wouldn't have the fanbase he does.
