So it's been announced that the Royle Family won't be returning for a Christmas special in 2013.. shocked? and what do you think should replace it.. this article suggests more ab fab or work with Catherine Tate.

No-one wants to see loved ones suffer, especially as it did last year. Hopefully 'At Peace', 'Laid to Rest' & 'Gone But Not Forgotten'

^ It's almost always double the price of a weekly edition, so we're probably looking at £3.20.

I'd hazard a guess and say they will charge £2.99. It seems quite expensive to pay over three quid for a guide that tells you what's on over christmas. You can get one for 80p!

I'm not sure if there are plans for the front cover competition again this year, but if so, can I get mine in early, the new Dr Who.
Hope I'm wrong and it is some sort of traditional Christmas cover, but I fear the new Dr will play a large part of the cover. |

Having said that, the Radio Times haven't had photo images of TV shows/stars for a long time (bar Wallace and Gromit, which isn't quite the same) and has gone the more traditional route as of late. The Snowman and the Snowdog last year was appropriate in both respects I suppose. Perhaps at most a nod to the programme in a similar style to 2009's covers? I would bet against a photo cover, but then it is a bigger-than-usual event for the Christmas Doctor Who... |

Yes perhaps both the 11th and 12th Doctor, since he's regenerating in the Christmas special. It's a good shout.

The Two Doctors will likely feature on the cover of the Radio Tiumes preceeding the Christmas issue. And who else thinks the Christmas special will either be called The Twelve Days of Christmas or Twelfth Night?
Four months today until the 2013 Christmas Radio Times issue starts hitting the shelves!!

I'm feeling very Christmassy lately, think it's because of the miserable weather! I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's schedule predictions.
Does anyone know if there are any one off programmes this year? Such as Lapland, Panto etc |

This years 1st Christmas advert has already been shown it's the 1 for the Co-op that uses an Andy Williams song that mentions the most wonderful time of the year and has backing singers quiet clearly singing "ding dong ding dong"
![]() I quite liked it though. Quite clever.

It's that time of year again when I have Christmas on my mind
love this thread, look forward to it every year. Also lookinf forward to the "guess the cover" competition again. I've seen a programme about a mouse & a mole crop up on this thread a few times. Will it be similar to last year's room on the broom? I particularly enjoyed christmas eve's line up last year, for me christmas eve telly is more important than christmas night telly. Toby carvery have their christmas menu out, so i'm allowed to get excited now
