Well if my maths are correct, we should be seeing the Radio Times 15 weeks tomorrow. That's going by it being on the shelves in the south on Saturday 7th Dec.

The London edition will be available on that date I expect. It will be the next day or the Monday before all editions are available.

True, and in turn it then becomes the first to bag a copy

I'm sure last year though we knew the cover before it hit the shelves if I am correct.

You are correct. The cover is usually revealed on the Friday before it hits the shops. We will probably know what is on the cover on Friday December 6th.

If the cover doesn't feature Peter Capaldi and a Tardis I will be astounded!

I read that as "haggis". I think it's time for bed.

It wont. The emphasis will be on Matt Smiths last episode, and as I said before, will probably be the basis of the pre-Christmas issues cover.

Anyone think Call the Midwife will still be on Christmas Day this year or be moved to Christmas Eve/Boxing Day?

I hope that this Christmas isn't ALL about Dr Who.. there is a pretty large emphasis on the program in November as it is.

I reckon it will be Christmas Eve

I reckon there will be an early evening film, followed by Call the Midwife and then two separate comedy shows.

Shoe in for Christmas Day again I would think.

Only 4 months until Christmas

Interesting isn't it. It did pretty well on Christmas Day last year but not brilliant. I think it is more suited and may be on Boxing Day this year. Doctor Who was shifted to the 17:00ish slot to have room for CTM, but I can't see it happening this year and Doctor Who will be in the heart of the Christmas Day evening schedule - and with EastEnders a shoe in too, it will just be too drama heavy with CTM too.

Hope I'm wrong and it is some sort of traditional Christmas cover, but I fear the new Dr will play a large part of the cover.”

I'll run the Cover competition from 1st November, plenty could happen before then they may or may not affect the cover!

Wow! What a vastly improved channel ITV has become. They seem to have a much stronger offering thus far for Christmas than BBC1 does. So, will we have Midsomer Murders on Christmas Eve with Downton Abbey and Vicious on Christmas Day?

And, will BBC1 celebrate Christmas with "Love Christmas" idents this year?

Christmas specials of new C4 sitcom Man Down and BBC3's The Call Centre.

I wouldn't mind them using 'Love Christmas' as long as they don't have a trippy animation in the background. Make an effort Beeb. "/

Wizzywick, I won't believe that ITV is capable of improving until they bring back distinctive regional brand names along with regional continuity announcers. In past Christmas times announcers such as the wonderful Colin Weston have done some good bits between the programmes. Also I have a feeling that ITV will this Christmas be thrashed in the ratings by the BBC.

I think ITV are getting stronger. Ok still not brilliant but last Christmas was better than previous ones. BBC rely too much on Strictly, Dr Who, Eastenders.

Be interesting to see the Christmas eve schedule as whatever age you are Christmas Eve always seems to hold that bit of magic. I often look forward to the christmas Eve schedules more than the Christmas day ones.Last year was interesting with Lady and the tramp being shown at tea time. Really enjoyed that

Note to Claires Dad...Your site is amazing and the memories it evokes are great. I hope you find time to update the earlier ITV scehdules soon . Thank you

i also like Christmas Eve and the TV schedules for Christmas Eve are usually more exciting than Christmas Day. But I think that's because the anticipation of Christmas is still there and it feels more magical. Last Christmas Eve, BBC1's schedule was very good.

5.05pm Film: Lady and the Tramp
6.25 BBC News/Regional News
6.45 Film: A Christmas Carol
8.15 Merlin
9.00 EastEnders
9.35 Outnumbered
10.15 Mrs. Browns Boys
10.45 The Vicar of Dibley

Bet it won't be that good this year. I predict:

6.45 Atlantis
7.30 EastEnders
8.00 Holby City
9.00 Miranda Meets Brucie
10.00 Mrs. Browns' Boys
10.40 Citizen Khan
11.10 BBC News
11.30 Midnight Mass

Colin Weston, what a legend! I remember one New Year's Eve in the 80s and was convinced he was more than a little tipsy. Our family loved it when he was on.

Somebody better be killed by a Christmas tree, or else somebody's gonna get cut on Boxing Day.

Spotted as a news report today that James May and Oz Clarke have done a circuit of the IoM TT course in an electric powered Meccano bike and sidecar for an episode of his Toy Stories programme to be broadcast on BBC 2 this Christmas.
