I think years like this always miss a big sitcom christm episode in the il of Miranda or Gavin abd Stacey. Especially as i am not a great fan of Mrs Browns Boys.

Look forward to outnumbered though. I believe that is on. Any news on when? Will it actually be christmas special?”

Digiguide is currently listing Outnumbered as 10.45pm Christmas Eve.

Channel 5 have announced their line up. Actually not a bad offering this year. I'm surprised they got the premiere of Michael Jackson's 'This Is It'. I was half expecting this to air on the BBC at some point.

Ok, I stand corrected, then! Totally lazy from ITV there, showing the same film in, basically, the same timeslot as LAST Christmas Day! Good film, I watched it last year when it was on, but it needed a different timeslot for a repeat this year. Anyway, thanks again for your efforts in keeping us all reliably informed of all the listings. Here's to the big day next week! (For the magazine, that is!)

Magazine now listing True Entertainment (Freeview channel 61) which is a welcome bonus. One of the few magazines doing so at the moment!

just seen on digital spy that Holby City will be airing as normal on BBC One on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve what a stupid time to have this on

Just had a thought, with ITV having a Harry Potter overload this festive season I wonder if he'll make another appearance on the front cover of the Christmas RT?

I remember its sister programme Casualty being shown on Christmas Eve in 1994 I think.

Hardly big news Downton being pitted against EastEnders seeing as it happened last year!

Yeah, it's basically the BBC saying we won the ratings war last year. This year, bring it on. We are not scared.

Not a big shock; Eastenders for the win methinks.

As a fully fledged member of the "It's a Wonderful Life" fanclub, I'm really happy to see that it's been given a Christmas Eve afternoon schedule on Channel 4.

Really ideal timeslot

I predict Christmas Day afternoon on BBC one to look like this:

14:00 Christmas Top of the Pops
15:00 The Queen
15:10 FILM: Toy Story 3
16:50 BBC News

I'm in total agreement brilliant scheduling, everything done, tree up, gifts wrapped, dusk, lights on, glass of wine and a tin of chocs. What a great way to kick Christmas off.

Would it really be the end of the world if the channels got together and gave us all a 2 week break from the soaps at this time of year. We don't watch any soaps so to have them taking up so much airtime over Christmas is extremely frustrating.

Thanks for the info as ever. Much appreciated.

Seems a bit late hope it is moved at least an hour earlier.

I am the same. I don't watch them. Would love them to be replaced with festive sitcoms and shows over xmas.

Also very disappointed with the Holby City scheduling. As the wife watches it, depressing to think it will be on in my housr xmas and new years eve.

I really enjoyed the Michael McIntyre Xmad Roadshow a few years back. Felt very xmassy. Wish they would do something likr that again.

BBC One's schedule is now finalised so it will be going out at 10:45pm. I agree with you though, it is being shown quite late. Having said that, I will still be staying up to watch it

We don't watch the soaps either but unfortunately millions do and they always do well in the ratings, can't see them not having them on at Christmas anytime soon.
