Daily Mirror's lies about Chris Maloney in today's paper
Really went to town on him, between a 2 page spread, a comment piece and even a cartoon mocking him.
Going on about 'fake friends' greeting him at his workplace - my best mate was at the offices where Chris returned to, and said that it was nothing like the paper made out. They didn't tape Chris' arrival twice, the people in the office all knew (and like) Chris. All 2000 tickets to Chris' homecoming gig went in 30 minutes, which is indication of real support, as is the fact he has never been in the bottom two the whole series. Clearly they are absolutely TERRIFIED by the prospect of him winning, and will stop at absolutely nothing in an effort to try to prevent it happening. Don't believe the lies. If you don't want to vote for Chris, fine, But to deny he has a fanbase, and to pretend he doesn't have friends willing to greet him on his return, that's just evil and delusional, not to mention disgusting, It's a good job Chris is a relatively strong person - imagine if he'd done what that nurse had done? I never normally feel compelled to vote in these things, but I'll be voting for Chris tonight. |

Yeah, as in accusing him also of 'strangling someone'.You know, that kind of thing might be hurtful, don't you think? |

Is any of this stuff online? Really don't want to buy the Mirror. Agree, it's ridiculous and why bother making all this crap up about him if they're not scared. He's likely to win and that's got them worried, because he's got so much support! I hope he wins

Toffee Guy
It looks to me like they were fed this story by XFactor so that people think he isn't worth voting for.. What nasty people work on that show.shows how they manipulate the public to get the winner THEY want |

Yes I imagine having someone's hands round your throat is rather hurtful. Wonder what made him snap like that

If the thought of him winning makes them like this, imagine how bad it'd be if he won. He's probably better off not winning as people won't have the knives out for him as much.
It doesn't really matter anyway, whether he wins or not, Simon Cowell will likely do his best to wipe him from the show's history as much as possible. At the moment he's benefitting from all the controversy, press attention and vote money that Chris is bringing in. |

I never bought into the whole 'Chris has been topping the votes' stuff, but the constant negativity towards him in the run-up to the final makes me wonder. |

Didn't buy the paper, it was in the barbers on a table whilst I was waiting to get my haircut! Quote:
"They" who? The producers don't particularly care, none of the three finalists have any kind of lasting appeal, it really doesn't matter who wins.
Rather than do the usual X-Factor final story - "We have 3 winners already, aren't they all great, I hope people vote for their favourites, blah blah blah" - they are constantly going out of their way to tell people not to vote for someone. Most people can see it is no coincidence that Arthur and Jahmene get all the positive press, and Maloney just gets constantly ridiculed. Normally on these sort of the shows, the ridicule and hatred stops after a while (it did with Rylan) but it shows no signs of stopping with Chris. |

If 'They' don't care, why have the judges gone out of their way - on and off screen - to have a go at Chris. Headlines — it's that simple. :sleep:The stories will continue as time goes by after he's won. How Cowell is determined to have a proper winner next year who deserves it and the United Kingdom will be searched far and wide for really credible acts — honestly, next year! ![]() Maloney will be dumped as fast as possible. |

Dennis Nilsen
![]() #coughing and splutteringDid you know Dennis Nilsen lived not far from Cowell (and me) near Muswell Hill back in the day when THAT news arose? Note: I did not live with Simon Cowell!

Just the same old boring BS. The fact that he's never been in the bottom 2, and is here in the final alone shows that he does have a fanbase, as much as that scares Cowell and co. Also, isn't the whole producers giving out fan placards thing pretty much common-place?
I don't even like Chris myself, but all the hate at this point is very OTT. |
