So, which fusions worked for me, had to be Louis, Dani and Denise. Lisa was awful and Nicky, it just didn't work

The Quickstep Charleston won it for me. Delightful. And I'll admit I had my doubts about dance fusion, it was better than expected, but I still prefer straight dancing if I'm honest.

In order Dani, Denise & Kimberley were by far the most entertaining
Louis was underwhelming and the song didn't work, Lisa also was underwhelming. Nicky's was a straight up flop!!

When Louis lifted Flavia I went 'no lifts in the rhumba!!!!!' Forgetting its a fusion... That's deeply programmed!

I liked Louis, Dani and Nickys fusions best

I must be the only one underwhelmed by Kimeberley's dance - in places it looked shoddy. The only good thing is that it keeps fank you off the top spot

Louis, Dani, KimPashy.

Not bothered about the rest.

Kim, Dani and Louis were the best for me. Dani's was the best though. And I loathe the Charleston

Yes, I agree. Dani was my fave.

In terms of dance fusion working together, I thought Dani and Denise dances blended best together. They are not necessarily my favourite dances of the night, but for me, worked best together.

I loved Louis, Kim & Dani's.

Very clever choreography from Pasha, Flavia & Vincent.

All except Lisa & Nicky simply because they are not so much streets but a ten lane highway behind the rest

In theory two of the fusions were well matched: tango and cha cha cha plus the charleston and quickstep. The most difficult combination was samba with American smooth, although they aren't unsympathetic to one another as they might seem on the surface.

In terms of the dancing: I thought all of them did well. I enjoyed all the dances. My favourite was the charleston/quickstep from Dani and Vincent followed closely by Louis and Flavia performing a rhumba/tango. I really enjoyed Louis's rhumba and would have been happy to see that as an entire dance. Disclaimer - I'm not a Louis/Flavia fan and didn't vote for them but have to give credit where credit's due.

Louis & Flavia and Dani & Vincent.

I thought Dani and Vinthent's worked best, but they had the easiest combo (and it could have done with a touch more QS).

The jive and QS went well together too, and felt seamless.

I liked Kim and Pasha's performance, but it was overmarked and not real cha cha, imo.

Nicky was on a hiding to nothing with those two styles and that music, and I'm afraid he failed with both styles .

Lisa and Robins' was awful. They made no attempt to integrate the two - just did one after the other (and neither very well).

Louis and Flavia also didn't integrate, but they used the build in the music to make sense of the two different dances, and that really worked for me. I loved his rumba especially.

Overall, I think they did well. I enjoyed it

Indeed and it was way overmarked.

As fusions:

Dani - seamlessly integrated between bits of both dances.
Louis - good but missed something for me though the order of dances was correct.
Denise - well suited dances to mix together, shame about the foot faults.
Kimberley - decent choreo but a little overhyped and song choice not the best.
Lisa - satisfactory but could have used music to their advantage more - least imaginative choreo.
Nicky - bore no resemblance to the dances meant to be used.

If I'm honest as much as I enjoyed Dani and Vincent it seemed to me to be a fusion of Charleston and a bit more Charleston.

Louis and Dani both produced their best performances of the series imo.
The rumba is notoriously difficult for the male celebs and it was a massively brave call from Flavia to do it as half the routine. But Louis created great shaping and really used the space superbly with excellent control. The Tango part was also terrific and I was so close to giving him a 10.
Dani and Vincent had wonderful musicality, great transitions and maintained a smooth flow right the way through. Great character and technically better than usual imo. Once again nearly a 10 from me.

I thought Kimberley was good but not perfect, I still think she lacks conviction in her latin.
Denise was sound without blowing me away, her Quickstep element was weaker than her Jive.

Nicky and Lisa were poor and I would put them in the bottom two.
