SIR BRUCE Was FABULOUS Again ! -- The Strictly Producers Should Dump The Auto Cue & Set Sir Brucie Free ?

Who Else Wants To 'SET BRUCIE FREE' ?

No wonder Sir Bruce says in the Daily Mail that he will never retire, he has proved all his critics wrong yet again.

" ‘You look at newsreaders! I watch every morning and they’re making fluffs on the Autocue, and nobody ever says anything. But with me it’s a big deal. “He’s too old!” “He can’t do it!” “He’s past it!”,’ he huffs.

‘They say the words on my Autocue are blown up so big you can only fit three on at a time. That’s ridiculous! I have the same Autocue as everyone else and I haven’t even got contact lenses or anything, but that’s not taken into consideration.’ "

Come on Strictly producers, Dump the Auto Cue and 'SET SIR BRUCIE FREE' to ad lib to his hearts content which is what he does best.

" So there’s no question of him retiring? ‘Oh no! No matter what I do, I certainly wouldn’t retire now — it gives me such a buzz, and I’ve got my one-man show at the Albert Hall next year. It’s more what else I might do. I’d love to do a show with more ad-lib opportunities.’ "

I'm glad to hear your not retiring Sir Bruce all your fans get such a buzz watching you.

It's becoming more tiresome than a tiresome thing on a tiresome day in a tiresome universe........................

I have to say that the 'pickled walnuts' had our house in stitches, yes a lot of what Bruce does is cringe-worthy but it is worth it when he comes up with gems like he did tonight

I'm so pleased you saw Anton on The Red button commentary as well Pippa, I really enjoyed seeing him do that, I wish they would have him on again.

You're quite right. He's far, far more funny when he's ad-libbing.

He's embarrassing and cringeworthy and should retire.

I quite agree Terry, the autocue is a millstone around Brucies neck depriving us of truly great performances like tonight. Set Brucie free from the chains of the autocue, it's for other lesser performers not the maestro himself.

Your words are poetry to my ears BruciesChin, I always look forward to reading your posts, as you say the auto cue is a real millstone for Brucie and is as you say intended for performers who have lesser talent, the maestro himself is the master of live entertainment and needs no implement like that to captivate his audience.

They Freed Willy in the film, now the Strictly producers should Free Brucie.

I must have watched a different show then.

He was slightly better than last week but he still rambles on, talks all over Tess, grabs her roughly and half the time seems not to know what's going on.

Brucie is cheesy, bumbling and great. Brucie is part of the SCD package it would not be the same without him, long may he reign.

Please DON'T set him free. It's bad enough when he goes off script, the show would be 4 hours long if he was left to his own devices!

Terry, you're a laugh a minute (funnier than Bruce)

Do you think Bruce would be able to read and learn a script?

The auto-cue is there not to just tell him what to say next, but to keep him on schedule. Without it it would be chaos.

Some on here say he should go.

Some say he should stay.

None of us know what will be happening at the end of this series, (I wouldn't believe what you read in the Daily Mail).

You really have no idea, regardless of how many threads you start. So don't constantly pretend you do.

The article isn't exactly complimentary about BF; more writing on the wall?
Example: "Sir Bruce Forsyth and I don’t immediately hit it off. First, he’s sure we’ve met before — which we haven’t. ‘You wrote a piece and it wasn’t very good,’ he says, all bristly and prickly.

Then I mention how my father-in-law loves Strictly Come Dancing and sits poised with a pen and paper each week in front of his TV, avidly marking all the dancers.

‘I notice you said he loves the show, but you didn’t say whether he liked me.’ Bruce fixes me with a beady eye. ‘That was a little bit cagey. I do notice little things like that!' "

his regrets over how TV hijacked his stage career and how he had an amazing rapport with contestants on The Generation Game (‘They’d have done anything I told them — I could have got four gas ovens and told them to put their head in and they’d have done it!’).

How fabulous, bragging about being able to get people to commit suicide. The phrase 'hoist with his own petard' springs to mind.

It's alright, you can set him free.
There's only so far you can go in slippers keeping two minutes away from the nearest cocoa and toilet.

It’s all in the eye of the beholder and a journalist who can't spell so possibly you forgot to add

“And with that, we’re done. Bruce Forsyth is the consummate professional, a young slip of a thing at 84 and, after we’ve got over our initial wobble, a rogueish delight.”

I'm pretty indifferent to brucie, don't hate him but don't love him but I have to give him credit he did a good show yesterday.

He doesn't seem to suit the autocue, give him free reign and I think he's a lot better. I laughed out loud at his joke before Louis and Flavia and a had a little grin at his pickled walnuts joke. It's silly Saturday fun I think some people can take things too seriously

Terry, don't forget the bit in the article where he said the only thing he and his wife argue about are whether or not his lines are funny, and he has to explain to her those she doesn't think are funny. He does that frequently on Strictly.

If he has to explain why a line is funny, IT ISN'T FUNNY!

Why is there yet anoth of er thread started by the OP about Buce? Surely the previous thread would do. It is still relative and current.

Yes, that one comment alone, repellent and grossly offensive as it is, says it all about his rapid decline.

Disgraceful- demonstrates his own overweening arrogance and massive ego - nothing, and no one else, else but him in his own little universe.
